Aleenta Hua Hin Resort & Spa
Ranked #13 of 144 Hotels in Hua Hin
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed January 12, 2013

We had our Western Wedding Ceremony at the Aleenta hotel on the 12 Dec 2012 and have to say it was a truly magical and wonderful experience. The wedding party was large enough for us to take over the whole hotel (23 rooms) and all of my guests were extremely happy with the rooms the service and the quality of food - not forgetting the setting. Every room is slightly different and offers a relaxing getaway from hustle and bustle life.
The best thing about the Aleenta is its staff - all are very accommodating and speak a good level of English. The Resident Manager James Noble is excellent and always very charming, social and will go that extra mile to ensure that your needs are met.
I would recommend this hotel to any one for a short weekend break from Bangkok, a 2 weeks romantic holiday or for holding a special occasion.

Room Tip: The best rooms would have to be the 3 rooms on the beach in the round style with plunge pool.

At very late notice we contacted Aleenta requiring accommodation at one of the busiest times of year (over the new year period). The Manager, James, couldn't have been more obliging. He managed to accommodate us for a last minute five night stay. This involved moving rooms three times, which we were only too happy to do as it meant we could remain at Aleenta. Also, the advantage was that we experienced 3 styles of accommodation with the highlight being a bungalow on the water front! Instead of taking the easy road, James went to great lengths to enable us to be accommodated. The service from the staff was exemplary. All staff related to us with a very professional and engaging manner. Memories of our time at Aleenta will stay with us.

We split our 6 night trip to the region as Aleenta was hosting a wedding and they couldn't accommodate us for the original all 6 nights booking. We had the option to cancel the whole trip, but we did want to stay at Aleenta due to the great reviews, so opted to split our trip and spend 3 nights at Aleenta and 3 nights at another hotel in Hua Hin.

Highlight
-------------
- The views from the inside the Room

Room
-------------
- We stayed at a Palm Pool suite and it was beautiful.
- The bed was very comfortable
- The shower is outside and there is a door that opens up from the Bathroom to the Shower, unfortunately in the rainy season that makes the place a paradise for mosquitoes. Going to the bathroom was a nightmare, due to the vast amount of mosquito bites that we ended up with.

Facilities
-------------
- Hotel Pool is tiny with 3 or 4 Sunbeds
- The restaurant has a limited selection of items for Lunch/Dinner and it doesn't
* would not recommend the restaurant for vegetarians
* it is generally quite pricey compared to other hotels/restaurants around
* Especially there are proper restaurants 2-3 minutes walk away where you can enjoy a feast for the price of one item in Aleeta's restaurant menu
- The beach / access to sea are quite nice

Service
-----------
This is the most interesting bit. I know the overwhelming feedback from other travelers is that the service is very good, however we had the completely opposite experience.
- We felt no friendliness in the service and had to lower our expectations a few hours after the arrival to avoid being regularly frustrated
- the reception/front desk area was quite chaotic, staff running around
- we were informed that the room was going to be ready in an hour and were offered to wait at the Restaurant, but had to wait around more than 2 hours after that.
- a day after being at the hotel we realized we need to have the Do Not Disturb displayed as the staff would disturb you regularly, sometimes lacking common sense:
* They would knock and find you in bed, and offer you to make your bed. which is very odd.

Overall impressions
-------------------------
- Aleenta Pranburi does look like a paradise on the website but it is not as stunning as the photos are.
- The concept is quite nice, however the place is tiny(and the beach area is public), so you don't get the feeling of truly being in a secluded paradise
- No Attention to details, which I feel is quite important to be labelled a 5 star hotel
- Service lacks warmth and friendliness, sometimes also common sense
- Beware the mosquitoes - they may ruin your stay

Conclusion
---------------
If you are a first time visitor to a similar style and 5 star hotel, you may like it.
However if you travel frequently and have experience in staying at other 5 star hotels of similar kind you will be frustrated!
The photos and views are quite pleasant, however the whole experience is not worth it.

Room Tip: the Palm Pool Suite had great views!

The Aleenta is a truly stunning hotel. Nothing is too much for James and his team (including a trip to the local hospital) who give family-like service to all guests. We stayed in one of the Frangipani suites and it was a fantastic antidote to buzzing Bangkok. Cooking lessons, candle lit beach dinners and the spa are all highly recommended! Thank you Aleenta Pran Berry!

Richard Branson has an ability to take the ordinary and turn it into a sparkling, quirky experience by motivating employees to give from their heart. The Aleenta does the same. There is wonderful understated vitality to the establishment that quietly rebalances and energises you that is really only fully appreciated once you leave. Hats off to James Noble and his team!

aleenta is one of my favorite brand. I stayed in Aleenta Hua Hin in Nov 2004 and revisit the hotel recently in Oct 2012.
It was still very nice and I love to stay here with my hubby.
A peaceful place to enjoy our getaway without noise which I think they are better than the 5 stars hotel out there.
Met the hotel manager there on a heavy rainy day....
well done team and love to be back to celebrate our 10th anniversary next year.

Alleenta is perfectly situated on a great beach and only 3 hours drive from Bangkok.
The restaurant serves well composed dishes yet with unique flavours, and is the hub of the hotel. Thai and Eastern dishes have been added too to make sure that is very difficult to leave the Hotel and go elsewhere.
The Spa has a wide range of treatments at very good prices.
Overall ,just perfect
