There’s a lot to love about the Centara. It is a beautiful Colonial style hotel (nearly 100 years old in parts), with fabulous manicured gardens, close to the centre of everything in Hua Hin but seperated enough that it does not feel hectic.
We splashed out on a Premium Deluxe Club room which was absolutely stunning. Big & comfortable with lots of thoughtful inclusions (eg 2 items of laundry foc per day) & a giant sized balcony. I would have loved more comfortable loungers though and perhaps a canopy or shade umbrella for the balcony to make it more useable.
The Club benefits are great but perhaps oversubscribed (we were visiting off season but it was still very busy) and it would have been really nice if the evening cocktail hour was reserved for adults only as it was hard to relax & enjoy as a ‘cocktail’ hour when surrounded by children
It has lots to do, including 2 lovely sized pools, a nice gym (wish it was a bit bigger though) and the hotel is located right on the beach where you can go horse riding.
They do great buffet nights at the Coast beach bar/restaurant but do book ahead as it gets very busy.
My only gripe was service could sometimes be a bit haphazard, vacillating from overly fussy (whipping plates & drinks away before you had finished) to a bit sloppy (eg. my breakfast order got forgotten about on one day). For this reason, I cannot give a 5 as at this level and price I do expect service to match. But it is a gorgeous hotel, nonetheless
