Hua Hin beach downtown is a melee of tourists, touts, horses, and hawkers. There are overpriced deckchairs for rent and the crowds are shocking at weekends. The big submerged rocks after which the town derives its name make swimming almost impossible.
The 7km stroll south to Khao Takiab can be pleasant though, especially in the low season.
