This is the current King's palace and you cannot visit it. As a number of other reviewers have pointed out all the photos and all the reviewers that say they have visited here have actually visited Mrigadayavan Palace. Why don't trip advisor get a grip and either delete these misleading reviews and photos or move them to the reviews of Mrigadayavan Palace? I went there yesterday and they are definitely photos and reviews of there.
This is the problem with the public being able to review places without any check being made, they can write rubbish that misleads the rest of us. I nearly spent the day and paid for a taxi to visit this palace but fortunately some reviewers do know what they are talking about and advised it would be a complete waste of time and money.

Passed this on the bus and taxi everyday on the way to clock tower. The gardens looked immaculate and palace was partially hidden. It was the kings residence in hua hin. It is heavily guarded by the army day and night. The son of the king does not reside here . It is a main viewpoint from street . It is not open to tourists as I was told by taxi driver.

As pointed out several times already...the Klai Kang Won Palace is not open to tourists. It is the Hua Hin residence of the Royal family which is located on the seaside along Phetchkasem Road a small distance north of the town center. You can recognize the Klai Kang Won Palace as a beautiful fenced in property with military personnel stationed along the sidewalk guarding it.
Again...not open to the public!

Apparently the King and Queen of Thailand reside here more so than they do in Bangkok. I was not aware that you could actually go into the compound as there were guards at every gate and stationed every so many feet outside the walls and fencing. But, it looked pretty impressive and large from street view. Grounds looked like they were maintained very well.
