Wat Khao Takiap is a temple at the top of a mountain/ hill about 10km south of Hua Hin. The temple itself is quite small and not very imposing. It is at the top of several flights of stairs (no lift) and you need to be a bit fit. The views from the temple area are very good indeed.
The area around the base of the temple is populated by hundreds of monkeys running free. They are used to human contact and many shops sell nuts, bananas and corn to feed the monkeys. I don't know a lot about monkeys but the seemed quite happy. There are a lot of babies clinging to their mothers so they must be able to multiply actively.
There is no fee to get to the attraction and looking around at your own pace will probably take up to 2 hours depending on how much time you spend with the monkeys (the best part of the area in my opinion).
