“Okey hotel”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

We got a room at the old wing, which is quite well maintained, spacious and silent.
However, the elevator, gave us a bad first impression, it is very tiny and the carpet and walls are worn out and smelly.
There is a small swimming pool but the huge one at the beach is the best thing this hotel can offer. Also the location is good, in the middle of the long beach and a distant to the main road.

The restaurant is however disgusting, so I suggest not to book a room with breakfast.

The receptionists are very friendly, but the restaurant personnel, do not speak english aside from one guy, who is very friendly....forgot his name though.

Price for Hua Hin is okey.

Room Tip: The room in the old wing is good value. The rooms facing the sea is of course better but much more e...

This hotel was ideal for what we wanted. The rooms are a reasonable size, bathrooms very nice, some English TV Channels. It's a bit of a drive to the main tourist area of Hua Hin (15 mins approx) but we had our own car so it wasn't a problem. Staff were good, friendly and spoke ok English. There are some areas that the hotel could improve on i.e. the lift, wifi and hot water but if they did the prices would go up. The lift is small but there are only 3 floors so who cares? Water was sometimes a bit cold but it's 32C outside.... There is wifi just not throughout the whole hotel. Small imperfections and no reason to not enjoy the hotel. My only objection was the price at THB 3,400 a night it seemed a bit high but compared to other hotels in Hua Hin it was ok. Hilton was over THB 10K a night.

Chom view is definitely a run-down hotel with bad shower facilities. Stay for 2 nights and the shower was pouring cold & hot water in random. Crappy lifts and corridor. Breakfast selection is limited. Wifi is chargable and it get disconnect quite frequently.

We had a week long company family retreat at Chom View. The pros of this hotel definitely outweigh the minuscule cons. The staff bent over backwards to make our stay as best as possible. We are all very thankful for Pat who served us immensely. Our meeting space in the mornings was quite sufficient. The breakfast buffet is above average, I've had better at different Thailand beach hotels, but Chom View was enjoyable. The room service from the Plerna restaurant wasn't great. The pad thai tasted too fishy and the red curry was way too spicy to finish.

This is an incredible place for families. We had lots of kids with us and the kids had a great time. There are two different pools, both with shallow kid areas, and a playground. The beach was mostly underwater with the tide until the late afternoon and evening. Not the most picturesque sand and water, but a fun beach to play on with kids and play sports like frisbee and volleyball. We couldn't find any public volleyball courts, so the hotel put one up for us which was awesome.

The landscaping at the hotel is very beautiful with all the tropical plants and greenery. Like other reviews say, it is a bit far from the main hub of Hau Hin. It's a 5 minute walk up to the main road, but there are also taxis waiting at the hotel. At the main road there's a few good restaurants, coffee shops, and convenience stores nearby. Thankfully taxis are very affordable in Hua Hin, so it was no problem going into town for eating or shopping. Much better than the taxi/tuk-tuk mafia in Phuket. Renting scooters is also very affordable. Some of our friends rented scooters for 180 Baht a day for the week. Nearby Chom View we liked Best Beans Coffee, ICI Bistro, Lost Cafe, and Tesco Lotus Express.

One big perk of Chom View is that you are right next to the Cicada Market which is open on weekend nights, but was also open for New Years. This is a classy outdoor street market with lots of fun shopping, live entertainment and a neat street food-like setup eating area. Its a safe place to try traditional Thai food with a big variety. A fun place to hang out for a whole night.

The spa wasn't very impressive. My Thai massage was a bit weak, but the prices at the hotel are the same outside, so there is a convenience factor. Our favorite place for Thai massage/foot massage/pedicures was on the other side of the Cicada market and had a green sign and mini garden out in front. There is also a guy who did some laundry for us just next to that thai massage spa.

Just to the south on the other side of the little hill is Taikob beach which is where most people went. You can take taxis to and from. They have lots of seating and good food options on the beach. Some people call it Chop Stick Mountain Beach, but the local name is Taikob.

Stayed here for a couple of nights as a relaxing end to our holiday - before returning to BKK and the flight(s) home... Have stopped a number of times in Hua Hin before and always choose this area. We arrived off the train from Prachuap Khiri Khan at about 10.30 am and fully expected to have to dump our bags at reception and go off for a few hours whilst our room was prepared. But, no, our room was available and we were checked in immediately. The room itself was perfectly fit for purpose - good size and with darkened windows, which helped keep the sun out. Breakfast was nothing special - buffet style and very much geared towards Western tastes. We only used the beach-side pool late in the afternoon - so cannot comment on how busy it might have been during the day. OK, the amount of exposed beach in the immediate vicinity varies greatly depending on the phase of the moon (just Google "neap tides" for an explanation) - but the beach is a really relaxing way to walk the several miles into Hua Hin centre and back again. All in all, it suited our purposes perfectly. And you don't have to confine yourself to the resort restaurant at night......just go up onto the main road and hail a tuk-tuk (about £3 -4 depending on your negotiating skills!) or flag down one of the public Song Thews that start off from Khao Takiab (about 50p per person!) and go all the way to the centre of Hua Hin.

Another great hotel chosen by Escape Worldwide for our trip. Right on the beach in Hua Hin. We had a large room in a block over the road from the hotel reception which made it nearer the pool and beach reached by a short walk through the gardens. View from the poolside was amazing. Our room had just been redecorated and was well equipped with a kitchenette, large fridge and microwave. Only downsides were the noisy air conditioner unit (which we got used to) and a luke warm shower (which was actually quite refreshing given the weather!).Staff were very friendly and could not do enough for us.

Room Tip: Rooms in the blocks over the road from reception are closer to the pool and beach

Just returned from a three night break with my wife, 9 month old baby boy, and his grandparents. We had a two bedroomed garden view room that was really good although could use updating. The room consisted of a twin and double room upstairs with one shower room. The bedrooms were nicely appointed, big comfortable beds but the pillows were uncomfortable as they were too big. The bathroom struggled to cope with four adults, the sink became blocked almost immediately and the shower cubicle was way too small. The shower head also needed replacing but the temperature and power of the water were fine.

downstairs the one room contained a small kitchen worktop, fridge, sink, drawers and cupboards. THe fridge contained the usual mini-bar' items. There was no tea or coffee in the room which was a shame. Weirdly on the second day we returned to the room to find a microwave had been added to the room athough, even more weirdly, there was also a sign that said cooking was not allowed in the room!

The rest of the hotel was 'nice' but needs a lick of paint .The main pool area was nice but missing umbrella's. The beah bar is a little small but these are just picky points.

One major plus for the hotel is the staff. Excellent! Nothing was any trouble and we were all made to feel very welcome. My son was looked after very well and i can't thank the staff enough.

Although the hotel has an excellent location with access to the beach i don't think i would go back. Something i consider the best yard stick for measuring the success of a hotel.
