We've been in several places in and around Hua Hin. This place, just a few minutes to the left on the main street from the Hyatt Regency, was by far the best one. My wife - originally from Thailand - also loved it very much and helped me order some more non-touristy food.
It's located right by the main road, but traffic's not that hard and there's enough tables to choose from. The menu is huge and has lots of fish and seafood options. Meat is also available. But the best thing about this place is the wide selection of Isan food (from Northern Thailand), which is not always easy to find. And the cook here really knows what he's doing. We've been here four times and had a wide range from all different kinds of Thai Food. And every single dish has been absolutely excellent.
They really cook authentic, full of flavours and spices. Fish and seafood are fresh and so are the vegetables. The meat has a surprisingly good quality. There are some really funny dishes on the menu. Like some kinda mashed fish-meat...and then it gets fried (check my pic). The several Isan soups and stews are really worth a try....filled with wonderful mushrooms and herbs. The Isan Bamboo salad (sour / preserved bamboo) is brillant too. If you dare you also can order some organs or intestines.
The atmosphere is very easy and laid back. The service was awesome. Nice and helpful guy. A nice surprise are also the prices. You can have a a table full of food for between 10-15$. Beer's cold and cheap.
If you only can go to one place in Hua Hin - then THIS has to be it. Even if you have to make a trip from downtown, it's absolutely worth it!
