Our family love to go to Hua Hin due to it’s history and is not too far from Bangkok. The beach is much better than Pattaya as it has less beach vendors occupying the precious spaces. I had to give it to the local authorities who were not afraid to do the right things. Hua Hin is also a fully developed town with proper hospitals and supermarkets ( we love to cook in our condo ).
The most important thing for us was food. After Bangkok and it’s vicinity, for us there’re only Chaing Mai, Haad Yai and Hua Hin in terms of food. There are numbers of good eatery places here both for Thai and European cuisines. And our favorite spot in Hua Hin is this small restaurant.
The restaurant is an open air without proper parking. U can park on the roadside though. “Bang” is what Thais call Indian or Muslim guy. But this place had separated cooking area and offered pork dishes.
The menu was rustic sea food and jungle dishes. Our favorites were Tom Yum Kung, Pad Cha Pra, Fried Gourd ( Mara) with egg, Deep fried Thai Mackerel and Hua Pla Mor Fai ( Fish Soup). One of the best place in Thailand to experience a dish which we probably call as one of the main National dishes , Pad Kapraw ( Fried Sweet Basil with meat or sea food). Try beef and u would know why we had to go there every time we visited Hua Hin.
Most seaside restaurant would focus on freshness of the raw materials. Sadly it usually where it ends. No emphasis was made on cooking quality. This restaurant meets our expectations. They produce consistently delicious foods which is very difficult to achieve. Plus the price is really reasonable.
