“loved Hua Hin”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

We absolutely loved the hotel we stayed at. We stayed at the Regency Club, a resort within a resort, and it was beautiful. There was free breakfast, and between 5-7 in the evenings, thee were free drinks in the poolside bar. We loved it so much, that we would visit Hua Hin again, only because of teh Hotel, not becase we loved Hua Hin. The Hotel was adjacent to the Barai Spa, which was also incredible, we used it everyday during our three day stay there

I have been coming to this hotel for the past 6-7 years and have stayed approximately 30 times at all different parts of the years and have enjoyed every stay. This is not to say that there have not been issues because there have been but I would happily say that whenever one arouse the management and staff have been quick to correct and to ensure that my stay was enjoyable. The staff are long term, many of whom I met on my first visit and they have been consistent with their high quality service.

The complex is low rise and the rooms are a good size, comfortably fitted out with well equipped bathrooms which you can laze in and look out across the main bedroom at the gardens from almost every room, The grounds are well laid out and well maintained which creates a very relaxing environment for strolls and the large pool is long enough to provide some gentle exercise to break up those long stays on the sun lounges.

It is approx. 5 kilometers out of town which means that the noise levels are minimal but is still a short bus $US2 or taxi ride $US5 to the Village market for supermarket shopping and the town centre for dinner on one of the pier restaurants or some market purchases.

The hotel itself has 3 restaurants in the grounds. Talay Thai (Thai), Figs (mix of western dishes) and McFarland House (modern mix) as well as a day time café come bar around the main pool area. All provide good quality food and service if you want to stay and eat in. McFarland House is the favorite because of its location and style it is just the place to relax in the evenings with a cocktails and some snacks.

I would recommend it for couples looking to relax as well as families with small children. Many Bangkok residents come to the Hotel on weekends so it can be a little busier than during the week but the weekends also give you the chance to try the food markets just outside the main gate on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights.

Room Tip: The Regency Club is at the southern end of the complex and is quiet and well appointed. Choose here...

Dear Karimbay

We are grateful of your wonderful support to the resort for the past 10 years. It is wonderful to note from our loyal customer such as you of the reason why you keep on returning to Hua Hin and our resort despite many new destinations/resorts in this part of the world. As you said, we are not perfect but each situation presents itself an opportunity for us to learn from it and ensure those unpleasant experience won't be repeated. Those positives comments will be used to enhance and motivate the team to strive for service excellence.

Stayed here for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Surroundings, service, restaurant and bar options all kept me in place without getting bored...as you can do in a resort style place. They have a great ambiance by the pool, peacefull, laid back, cool drinks to hand, complimentary chilled drinking water. Service is excellent, the resort is very well maintained, room in top condition and working order. Location is perfect with the night market just at the main gate (the nice crafty one with thai food stalls, not the tatty touristy one in the centre).
No negatives whatsoever.

We did not know where to go untill a friend made us aware of this diamond hotel on the beach .On request they did organise the transport vv by luxery van from the airport in Bangkok at very moderate costs . The recepton was great and from the first moment were our boys "at home". A spacious super nice and clean room ....nice beds and enough towels.. The kids love the pools and their slide . Many good restaurants and all fresh good quality food at normal prices... A super good kids club if you want to let the boys play with other childeren This Hyatt has the best healthy kids menue we did ever see . Not fast food but real food. Babysits were easy to get from the hotel at modereate costs. That makes this a diamond hotel because of all of the above we did have a super holiday.. The Spa of this hotel is out of theis world ,spectacular,we would like to go back soon. Thanks staff and Management !!

Thank you for choosing to stay at the resort with your family. We are glad to learn that everything went well and the boys also enjoyed the resort's facilities and surrounding. Thank you for your comments about the children's menu. It is extremely important for us to treat our little ones with the nutritious food which is important for their development.
We hope to welcome you back again to Hua Hin in the near future.

As first time travellers to Thailand the Hyatt Regency was recommended as a 'very good', 5 star hotel in a luxurious setting.
We booked 'club' rooms to take advantage of the club facilities; breakfast ,evening cocktails and exclusive adults only pools etc
As recommended, the hotel was in a glorious setting in its own well tended garden, adjacent to thee beach. The club rooms were generous ,recently refurbished and extremely well looked after.
Sadly the 'Club' facilities let the hotel down. Breakfast tables were not cleared and on many occasions not laid up and very poor service. Equally the 'club' service in the evenings was poorly staffed and again service very poor for what is claimed to be a 5 star facility. One guest did politely complain to the manager and to be fair things improved for a few days but sadly reverted back to the previous standard.
Similarly the exclusive adults pool resembled a children's playground as did the club lounge in the evenings.

Dear NorahDevon

It was a pleasure to note that you had a good time at the resort and thank you for pointing out the areas for improvement especially with regards to the service at the Club lounge during your stay.

Our apologies for this lacking of service and there is no excuse for this to happen despite the fact that the hotel was running full with lots of families. We could certainly do better and will do our utmost to improve the service offering at our Club lounge.

With regards to the Regency Club pool, kindly be advised that this pool was never designed as an exclusive adult pool. Although there are three other pools at the main area of the hotel, nevertheless this Regency Club pool is also popular due to its unique design. We understand that at times it may get busy especially with families with children which stay at the Regency Club. We do ask the co-operation from the parents to help supervise their young children when in the pool and altogether to respect the privacy of other guests too.

Thank you once again for your observation and we hope to welcome you back again to show you the improvement that we strive to make.

Sincere regards

I have just spent 10 of the most wonderful days in this beautiful resort hotel.
The staff are helpful to the extreme, friendly, courteous and nothing is too much trouble. Included in our rate was a daily massage, breakfast and drinks and canapés between 5 and 7 daily. Also unlimited coffee, tea and soft drinks all day.
The pool and grounds are second to none, including a children's pool the type and size, with little beach, I have never seen in all my travels.
Restaurants are excellent too. All the food is fresh and very tasty. They are very accommodating if you want to change something that is on the menu.
I will definitely be going back one day.
I have to add, the only disadvantage is the distance from the international airport.

Stayed for 3 nights for business meeting, therefore limited chance to enjoy the nice outdoor setting. Rooms are ok - mine was very dark as located on ground floor and trees in front of window. Sleep comfort though was very good - one of the best i had in any hotel.
No fruitbasket in room - this should be a must for a hotel of this class.
Nice and well equipped gym - alternatively you might talk power walks up and down the beach followed by a swim in ocean.
Breakfast is ok - nothing special Again fruit selection limited.
Best thing was the (non-alcoholic) Lemongrass Sling i had first night in the Bar of Thai Restaurant - try it, it is addictive.
