I can only echo what has already been said here. Hotel pickup, time spent in the local market, then informal time spent in Bo's home as she shows you how to prepare a variety of dishes. One tip: don't eat before you go as you will be full very quickly and have to take your dishes home with you takeaway style!
We were a family with kids aged 12 and 15 who thoroughly enjoyed the day.

“This was enjoyable.”

We opted to do this course rather than the one offered at our hotel and really enjoyed the experience in Beau 's kitchen, with some help from her daughter Emily who likes to interact with the customers.
The course is highly recommended and although we had done a Thai cooking class before, this one offered more understanding of the flavours used in the various thai dishes.
Just be aware that Emily may steal the show!!
Highly recommended.

“Tasty, and educational”

A great way to spend a day in Hua Hin. Started with a shopping trip to the local market with our tutor, Beau, then off to the beautiful old wooden house where she teaches. We made green curry, tom yum, spicy papya salad and pad thai, followed by mango with sticky rice. Learned exactly what I'd been doing wrong with Thai food all these years, plus we got to taste Beau's versions of the dishes, which was a treat in itself - she truly is a wizard in the kitchen. Worth every baht.

“My hubby can now cook- no excuses!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 22, 2012

I have to say that the cooking course was one of my favourite days of our honeymoon! We were picked up from our hotel in the morning with two other people and then Beau took us to a proper Thai market for the food- which was just fascinating! She explain what each ingredient was and what it tastes like and what used for... then we were taken back to her home where we were given time to freshen up and relax before donning our pinnies and getting started!

Her home is a traditional Thai style house in two pavilions and as soon as you stepped inside you felt a sense of calm and peace from the busy outside! Her lovely man, Brett and daughter Emily were also there to greet us and make us feel welcome.

The course itself isn't hard- as I said in my title, my hubby doesn't cook, so it was a great introduction for him and he loved being able to eat what he had made! Yippeee! We made 4 dishes and Beau demonstrate each one first and lets you try it to see how it should taste and then it up to you!
The day ended with just sitting around the table chatting with Beau and her family and then then we were taken back to our hotel!

I 100% recommend Beau's course as its not expensive as some of the other trips we looked at and you get to eat all your own food as you make it! You also get to take the recipes home and she gives you lots of hints and tips on other ingredients you can use to get abroad!

I have been home now for a week and have already sources a Thai supermarket in Edinburgh, which I found had all the ingredients so no need to substitute and the owner was so helpful also!
I made a huge Thai Green Curry for a dinner party of 12 people and it went down a treat! It was quite strong, but i think it cleared a few colds going around the table!

Thank you again to Beau and her family- we just loved it!!! Oh and you also get a glossy certificate to take home! Yippee- total proof that my hubby can now cook and doesn't have any excuses now not to!!!
