The location was fine. Soi 94 is a little far from city center (Soi 57), but it was quiet and relaxing on Soi 94 with the only noise coming from an occasional train. It's approximately a 10 minute walk to a quiet portion of Hua Hin beach, and it was a great spot to call home base for touring around the Hua Hin Area. We visiten the city center twice for dinner and ate dinner once at Restaurant 94 just a 5 minute walk from the Smile Resort.

Stayed here again for eight nights, 14th to 21st of march. It's such a lovely little Hotel we wouldn't stay anywhere else. We booked direct on their website, easy & prompt reply, they also booked our airport transfer & the driver was waiting for us when we arrived at BBK. We even had our old room, felt like coming home. The rooms now have safes which is good. Internet was free & connection was good all the time we were there. Air con quiet & efficient. Still the same staff which is nice to see, always smiling & polite. Reception team excellent, anything they can do for you they will. This is a very good value, clean, safe hotel in a nice quiet part of Hua Hin. So easy & cheap to get to the centre on the 10 baht bus, every time we came out of the hotel there seemed to be one coming along. They will toot to see if you want to get on. Tuk tuks are only 100 baht but the 10 baht bus are brilliant. If you wait at the top of the night market you can easily get one back to soi 94. It's not far too walk into town if it's not too hot. Plenty of places to eat, S & S Indian, Terrace 90 The friendly kitchen. I took more notice of the fridges in reception & the dinning room this time, there is water, beer, soft drinks etc all at normal prices. Saves you carrying back heavy bottles. Really reccomend The Smile Resort for a lovely place to stay In lovely Hua Hin. Looking forward to going back again.

Room Tip: Pools over looking the pool are quieter,

We stay at the Smile for 16 nights at the end of Feb / March (Room 301) and it was a very enjoyable experience.
The hotel is just 2 years old , family run and its based on a large modern hotel but scaled down.
The policy of the Smile is quality service and cleanliness.("What can we do to make your stay enjoyable)
Like previous reviews the hotel is just a 10 Baht ride into central Hua Hin but hotel has many resturants and bars around it and of course the large Garden Market shoppping centre (Tescos)
We had a great time at Smile and hope to return next year.

We had 2 very slight niggles

Although the breakfast was good they could vary the variety fruit
The washbasin did not have hotter enough water for shaving.
But if you are thinking of staying at the hotel we would advise you to book early as during our stay there it was full most nights.

You must try the little resturant across the road ...........The Kitchen

The rate for this hotel is generally in the $40.00 per night range, and that price doubles to over $80.00 over the holiday period. Sadly, other than the price nothing else changes. The amenities in the room were poor to nonexistent. A kettle is provided, but not so much as a teabag to go along with it. The housekeeping service was okay in the beginning, but as time went on the cleaning became very slap dash, and the room was often not cleaned until well after 3pm in the afternoon. I almost always left the room before 9am, so it was difficult to understand why the cleaning was left to so late in the day.

The breakfast was okay, but not much variety. They serve the same thing everyday.

There were no tourist maps or information available in English.

I realize that many hotels charge high prices over the holidays. The very least the Smile Resort could do is provide amenities and service to warrant the cost..

I arrived at Hua hin with my family on the 17th of December, initially with a plan to stay for 5 days but ended up extending our stay for an additional 7 days. Our decision to choose Smile Resort was the best thing that happened to us. We just loved our stay at the hotel. The staff are excellent - very helpful and friendly. The hotel is owned by a very friendly couple, who are around most of the time to see that things are running smoothly. The breakfast was great. We loved the pool but it is true that the pool is in shadow after 1 pm but it was still great. Free tea in the lobby and restaurant area, free wifi - just a very relaxed atmosphere. Would also like to mention that the rooms are very clean - thumbs up to the house-keeping team. There is a safe in the room so keeping money and documents in the room is very convenient and safe. The hotel has motorbikes for hire which is another added facility. Overall an excellent hotel and very reasonably priced. I strongly recommend Smile Resort to anyone travelling to Hua hin. And to the Smile Resort Team - keep up the great work.

Room Tip: I would recommend the rooms on the pool side, as the train noise on the other side can be heard at times late at night when it is really quiet.
