Marrakesh Hua Hin Resort & Spa
Ranked #27 of 141 Hotels in Hua Hin
Reviewed January 11, 2013

This hotel should by all accounts be a big fat 5 star but the truth is behind the faded paint and dated interiors sits if at its best a good 3star and why you may ask
Breakfast consists of juice out of a carton and substandard fruit and accessories that make for a very basic bed and breakfast
Beach side relaxation hmmmm, the towels smell of chlorine and the beds are structured so as not to be in a position of sun, heaven forbid if you move your bed to the garden this is frowned upon....
The gym is mediocre if at best....
The bedrooms want to be amazing but they just don't cut it....they are poorly laid out with a jacuzzi that stays ice cold...and to enter means walking across your bed room which means that you drip across on the way back, the towels in the bedroom stink so badly that you do begin to believe that you have fallen in a pool chlorine again is the lead factor.... So is this a five star no but it is a solid three star and if it sets its sights there it my grow to be a small player in a very big pond

Room Tip: Don't book a jacuzzi room it's not worth it the jacuzzi isn't even in the in!!! & yo...

Hotel looks nice but service was terrible. The place was practically empty during peak season so I guess everyone else knows this already and I'm the last to find out they have terrible service. They put us in a room where construction was taking place in the rooms nearby. They had plenty of other rooms to put us in. The noise was very loud. We tried talking with hotel staff, security, manager, booking agent, some guy on the phone who said he was the ceo, even the construction workers themselves. No one would take responsibility for anything, change our room, or give us a discount for the extreme inconvenience. Security guards want to sell you everything from taxi and jet-ski rides to tours because they get kickbacks. They get very unfriendly when you don't go thru them. They told us it's easy walking distance to the mall. It was actually about 2 km. Restaurant in hotel charges twice as much as other places withink walking distance. Plenty of other hotels to stay in along the beach with better prices and service.

I was trying to book a Hotel for the weekend in Hua Hin. However, Hua Hin Town is very very busy this time of year and all properties where triple priced compared to their regular rates. I found this Hotel on Latestays.com for baht 4,500 and gave it a tryas it was the most reasonable of the 5 Star properties. I was kind of skeptical while driving up to the lobby but then once I entered the open air reception was taken by the beauty of the place. I booked the smallest room which was the Jacuzzi Suite and it was huge, well appointed with all the amenties one would need. The Hotel is new so everything is in perfect condition.

It is located right on the beach in the center of town. You can walk to the the big mall for shopping and take a short Tuk Tuk ride to the Night Markets. The offerings for breakfast and service by the staff was perfect. As i have stayed at many Hotels in Hua Hin I was surprised by how friendly the staff was. Thai people are usually friendly but these employees where always weager to help and always had a big smile on their face. Must be a tribute to the management.

We stayed here for 5 nights, the rooms were lovely and the hotel was wonderful. The building itself was architecturally advanced for that part of Thailand, and the envy of people walking by on the beach.

The food was generally pretty good but worth alternating it with nights in the town centre (moon and smile platoo is highly advisable).

Large swimming pool and very friendly and helpful staff.

If in Hua Hin, that's where I'll stay again.

The place is quite small and not in any interest for my 2 years old child. The kid's zone is just for an older than 2. Actually the place is well decorated and suit for couples. The food is good. I have my child with multiple food allergies but he is OK with the food the hotel made especially for him. Finally, I impress most for the service mind for all the staff here. They are all nice. I will come back when my kid grow up.

I bought the voucher for 2 consecutive nights at the Thailand Discovery Fair early in March and just had the chance to go there this weekend (Aug 31- Sep 2). I was first given the room on the 2nd Floor on the garden side. The layout of the room was more functional but with no view. I felt trapped so I asked to change to a higher floor (could not understand why they could not assign a room with a better view when we arrived earlier than other guests and the rooms were still available). We were given room no. 18 on the 3rd floor of the "Camel" building. The room is good for the eyes but not functional. Toilet is on one side while shower room is on another. The light switches for the shower and the toilet are in the bedroom so you've got to walk to the bedroom to turn on the light. Both shower and toilet are quite dark. The jacuzzi is outside on the terrace and you've got to walk through the bedroom to use it. After using it, you would wet the floor coming back in to change your clothes. The interior is minimal with only few pieces of furniture. Nowhere to put your handbags, books or eyeglasses. Another point I disliked was the dark elevator.

The good points are comfortable bed, hospitable staff and nice beach. Pool area is nice and we had the pool to ourselves for the 3 days we were there (maybe, the other guests opted for their own jacuzzi). Breakfast was nicely prepared despite the limited choices except for Sunday when they offerred a wider selection to cater for the busy traffic.

Room Tip: For Jacuzzi Suite, request for the room on the 3rd or 4th Floor. The view is better.

No idea what they're trying to pull off but if you're going to charge 5 star rates please be one. You didn't even come close. Pitch dark rooms, no restaurant to speak of, cheap beds. Worst of all the entry is a narrow cul-de-sac meaning that if you happen to be stupid enough to drive all the way to the entrance you may be stuck there for a few bours since there is no way back through the 5 foot wide ally. UNBELIEVABLE. Whoever designed this car trap ought to be shot. Oh and if you want to create a Maroccon athmosphere maybe your staff should wear something else than polo shirts. Last but not least, Lemme guess, the owners are Thai. Nough said.
