We had to hunt for the people for any service. No intercom, no staff after evening - only a gate-keeper without any English speaking or understanding ability - so you will not get any help from him, they provide only two towels - most of them are very old, not very helpful with tourist information........ they only provide a space to stay, and the price is higher then other similar hotels near-by.

Room Tip: All the rooms has very high AC noise

Didn't like the first room we were given here as it was very dark and the only window backed onto a road. After a little discussion at reception we were changed to an upstairs room overlooking the pool, this was claimed to be an upgrade, though better located the facilities were the same as the previous one. Overall fairly plain and comfortable
Maybe they don't have many western visitors but the TV managed to have about 265 channels only one of which was in english, and that was a very boring asian news channel. Surely they can do better.
Very goodservice at breakfast, but somewhat limited choice if you don't eat eggs.
The hotel is located a bit of a hike from the centre of Hua Hin and although there are plenty of small local bars restaurants it is good to have the downtown choice. This should not be an issue as local shared songthaews pass by the entrance to the hotel and a ride is only 10 baht per person. However it can get a bit tedious to always have to take one of these things when you want to go out and be warned for the return they seem to stop at 9pm !
A good value hotel booked thru Agoda, if I came to Hua Hin again I would look for something a little more central.

Very friendly, affordable, clean, relaxing, satisfying, ideal for couples, comfortable, even comes with a mini golf course, swimming pool water is salty(need to improve), fridge in the room, kitchen at back of room, able to do light cooking, will come back for a second visit, etc...

Room Tip: lower floor is better..

The Amara is cute and clean aspiring boutique motel but really misses the mark. The pictures shown on booking websites do not represent all rooms. Most rooms are basic and clean but only a few match the pics. Our first rooms door would not close because it was so warped, but they moved us. Our second rooms bedding was ripped and stained, the staff changed without a fuss. The towels are worn out and needed replaced a few years ago. The water heater did not work but they again fixed with no fuss and got it to operate at a slightly warm temperature. The only positive is its cheap but not a value compared to other hotels in the area.

Room Tip: Don't book online until you look at the rooms.
