In Hua Hin for the week end to watch the fireworks we decided to visit the Hu Hin Hills Vineyard and have lunch there. The beautiful weather with blue sky and the cool weather (for Foreigner) and freezing cold (for Thai) did help make this lunch experience special. Located 25km from downtown HH the drive is well marked and easy. Road a bit bumpy in some areas.
Parking is plenty and assisted by guards restaurant design is uniquely perched on a hill looking down into the Monsoon valley. Menu is simple but with some interesting dishes. we took cold cuts platters one with cheeses and 4 different mains (Western and Thai food) and deserts. Everyone enjoyed their food and deserts were good too. We had a bottle of Sparkling Rose at THB 1'799 (sold the same price at the retail shop) toilets are clean and service was attentive. On the way out we indulged in some "home made" ice creams which were delicious. All in all a great excursion or drive from HH for a very enjoyable "lazy" Sunday family lunch. There are vineyard tours arranged in a jeep and some playground for younger kids. One advice, come early as the place gets very busy after 12:30!
