“Lovely afternoon, good food, good wine.”
Reviewed February 26, 2013

Thai wine is not renowned on the world market although a trip here may change your mind. Enjoy a tour round the vines, tasting the grapes before coming back to sample wines. They have a restaurant, with open air terrace, which has been well designed to fit in with the landscape. We opted for one of the wine sampler menus with a selection of tapas. Only shame is that it does not stay open after 6pm as we could have quite happily stayed there, drinking wine, for a couple more hours! Only compulsory cost is the THB 300 for the transport which is great value.

“Something different”
Reviewed January 26, 2013

We had a really nice day out at Hua Hin Hills. We booked the transfer, tapas and wine tasting and elephant ride online. The sala (restaurant) is beautifully designed to fit in with the landscape and there are beautiful views over the vineyard from all the tables. We took the elephant ride first. It was an experience I am not sure I would want to repeat, but I am glad we did it. The 15 minutes was certainly long enough!

We really enjoyed the wine and tapas pairings. The wine complemented the food perfectly. We also chose to have a dessert with a dessert wine which was also very good.

It is not cheap, but it is a very nice day out and something completely different. We could have sat there all day and looked at the view. My husband said that he would have paid for that alone.

“Time well spent”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

This was our first but hopefully not last visit to the vineyard. It's approximately a 30 minute drive from Hua Hin and familiarity with the roads is a must therefore I recommend a chauffeur or shuttle. Besides, you'll enjoy the wine that much more knowing you don't have to drive yourself back to Hua Hin. We selected the tasting package that included 3 wines paired with 3 appetizers .... everything was delicious! I'd actually expected so so wine but I kid you not, the wines were all great! And the appetizers were perfectly paired. We ended our stay with a fun elephant ride. The elephants look happy, relaxed and not at all stressed out. The experience feels like being cradled and rocked by a large beast wearing slippers. The Vineyard facility is modern, clean and well managed. I strongly recommend making reservations before going since I noticed that people who "just showed up" were informed the tables were currently all reserved. A visit to the Hua Hin Hills Vineyard is well worth the trip for the beautiful views of the hills, great food and wine.

“Oasis in the middle of the hills outside Hua Hin”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

The winery is worth a visit. You can get transportation from their wineshop in Hua Hin at Baht 300 each way. At the winery is a small restaurant sermving decent food and making some Tasting Tapas Wine settings. Recommend to try that.
There is also a jeep driving your around on the premises before leaving again. And on top your can get an Elephant ride also should you wish that.
Wines are basically quite ok. The grapes are grown at the wineyard and then transported to Bangkok where the fermentation etc is made. They make some reds (Shiraz is fine) and whites, and also a Brut Traditionelle.
Owned by a German - the prices on the wines rateher high compared to what you can get from many other countries, but it is quite impressing to make such wine in Thailand. It should be to hot!
