“What a great time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 18, 2013 via mobile

We came to Hua Hin without a booking for a hotel. We found Ruenkanok Thai House and we decided to book for 3 nights. What a good decision! The houses are very unique, clean and very beautiful. The breakfast was outstanding. And the staff was so kind. Mark invited us to make an flower offer for the full moon party and everything was so perfect. They've taking care of flowers and drinks and food! We loved it. I wanna thank Mai and the women from the kitchen to help us with the flowers ;). I advise everybody who goes to Hua Hin to book Ruenkanok Thai House. What a great time. Hopefully I see you next year!!

Dear Marinus,

Greeting from Ruenkanok Thai House, Hua Hin!

Thank you for your review about your recent stay at Ruenkanok Thai House, your hoe away from home!

We are so happy to see your positive and sweet feedback about our resort, and we are glad that you have enjoyed making your own "Kratong" and float it during the night. It was really a great experience for both of us that you have shared your precious time for Loy Kratong festival.

We are glad to hear such a positive feedback about Mai I will make sure to extend her your comment. Breakfast is our main attraction in the resort and we are very happy that you have enjoyed it.

Again, thank you and we wish you safe travels, we look forward to welcoming you back soon again.

We planned to move on from one resort to River Kwai, but decided to stay in Hua Hin for a few days more instead. I just happened to see an email from TA and checked out a few places on the page. Thanks TA! We found Ruen Kanok and so happy we did.
We started in a cozy room (16, just above reception) but once I asked owner Mark about options, we fell in love with the luxury villa (first floor 19A?) for a reasonable upgrade price. It was very generous--warm Thai style, with a large sitting room/kitchenette, large bedroom and a fabulous luxury bath, complete with 2 person jacuzzi and rain shower. Great bed and good TV. Minor drawback was the sitting room area had no fan--perhaps Mark will add one?
Staff was charming and included breakfast was enjoyable. The pool was a decent size for the 10 room resort. We liked the convenient location to reach the beach quickly. It was easy to go to town via taxi or take resort shuttle to Khao Takiab beach (which we didn't). It's a short ride to Villa Market near town for wines and snacks, too.
This is a smartly run resort that shows the personal pride of owner and staff. I do much of my booking thru LuxuryLink.com (wish they could do a deal w/Mark, but I doubt he needs to promote his place more!) I highly recommend Ruen Kanok and plan to return some day for another stay--certainly longer than 2 nights.

Room Tip: Go for the luxury villa suite if you have a bit more to spend.

This small hotel was lovely with a very nice garden and small pool. Rooms were well-appointed, but beds were a little hard. Staff was extremely pleasant and free breakfast was excellent. It is located on a not-so-nice street just off the main street in this little part of town to the south of Hua Hin, but it is close to a nice beach with a great view of the "golden Buddha" on the hill. Very nice overall except for the street it is located on. My wife and I found it very relaxing and pretty!

I am so lucky that I had the chance to stay at Ruenkanok !

Everything was perfect from the first minute to the last one. This is such a peacefull place perfectly located. The staff is very helpfull and make you feel very comfortable.

The shuttle service is very nice. One day we even asked for a good restaurant and the girl from the reception gave us a private drive.

If you have childrens, it is also good to say that there is a kid hospital at a 5-10 mn drive which is very nice, we unfortunately experienced it but they were amazingly quick and efficient.

The food at the restaurant is yummi. Too bad they don't serve for dinner but at least it forces you to go out.

Well, to sum up, everything was perfect and I can only recommand it to everyone. I am already looking forward to go back to it the next time I go the Thailand !

I had a wonderful seventeen nights stay at this cosy resort located only fifty meters away from the beach.

The place is very well kept and my villa was very clean.
I highly recommend villa number thirty one by the pond (where I stayed) as it offers more privacy and quiet space for “bookoholics”.

The place has two ponds, lots of flowers, trees and other greenery well kept by a gardener. The whole set up has a wonderful feel.
The breakfast is also great and so is an afternoon complimentary fruit plater.

My villa was very spacey and it had a big deep bathtub. I enjoyed sitting on my veranda reading the book, watching the flowers blossom, listening to the jumping fish and occasionally catching a butterfly, squirrel or a frog with a camera.

The staff are friendly and helpful.

I highly recommend this place and I would definitely stay there again.

We arrived by taxi from Bangkok and were met by members of staff with a lovely mint and lime drink. Check in was quick and simple but the only drawback is they ask you to pay for your stay in advance. We only paid 50% and this was accepted. We were shown to our 'house' and it was beautiful. Large, airy and with its' own veranda with chairs and a clothes airer. Large bathroom with complimentary toiletries. A free mini bar with soft drinks and water stocked daily. Also free snacks and fruit daily. A small swimming pool was a welcome relief as there are no loungers or bar on the local beach which is only 50m away. There is a free shuttle to a larger beach and also a free shuttle to the night market each day which is a nice touch. This was a perfect 6 night stay at the end of our Thailand holiday. Would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: Any of the rooms are good.

Everything was perfect! We stayed at the Luxury Villa with Spa and it was a superb experience. A genuine relaxing environment with tranquility at its best! The comfort, cleanliness, its simplicity yet with a touch of luxury = PERFECT getaway... Away from the city's hustles and bustles.

If you want to experience Thai hospitality, nature (greenery & water features), cleanliness, comfortable beds and other value added perks like the daily complimentary fresh fruits delivered to you, your bar fridge being replenished daily for free, delicious breakfast, free drop-off and pick-up to nearby nicer beach or at a night market, etc. then this place is for you. My partner and I will definitely coming back!!!

Tip: It's nice to hang out by the pool area at night to read, enjoy the sound of flowing water coming from the fountains, star gazing or to just simply take-in the evening surroundings. However, we suggest for you to buy one of those mosquito sprays (you can get it at the nearby 7-11) the resort does provide the incense type though. Thailand is a tropical country, so that's just nothing but normal :)

The fact that they don't serve dinner is quite a bummer! Don't get me wrong, it's just that once you're in the property already, you'd get the feeling of not wanting to go out anymore (which was a good thing though as the place was amazingly relaxing). For us, it was a disappointment specially that they really serve yummy foods (the satay burger was a hit and a MUST try!). So maybe that's something for the management to be considered in the future :)
