The market is easy to get to with the green public songthaew which runs until 8.30. You would need to use a tuktuk back as 8.30 is much too early to leave this place.
The food is street favorites served in a hygienic setting (not that Hua Hin needs anymore of this - everywhere is hygienic), and although they cost 50%-100% more to what you would pay for elsewhere (each entree is about 40 to 80 thb) , the quality is very good. Waiting for a table may take long as the market opens only on Friday-Sunday and largely popular with locals and tourists alike.
The products sold here are mostly creative goods, clothing, art, leather - with the proprietors often manning the stalls or tooling their wares right at the market. These are art products that you cannot find anywhere else, so buy when you see something you like. Please respect these are works of art and labor of love. Save the haggling for the night market.
Other nice stuff are the 2 stages at the front and back of the market, and a coffee stand which makes anyone's caffeine addiction kick in just by the aroma.
