We have been to this Tapas Restaurant on several occasions and never been disappointed. This time we came before 7 pm and that’s when they have the happy hour, order 3 Tapas get one free. This time we did order both the Serrano and the Iberico Ham. As we like the ham sliced thin, thin we asked the waiter to make sure it would be served in that way. It sure came in the way we wanted it. For us this also shows that they slice the ham in the restaurant not buys it pre sliced which of course is not the same thing, dry ham is not very tasty! The Iberico is more than double in price but taste 3 times more compared with the Serrano. Not to say that the Serrano is bad it tasted the way Serrano should taste. A glass of Red was enjoyed with the ham and it tasted fine and made the ham even better! Next dish was Gambas al Ajillo, shrimps cooked in oil with thin sliced garlic, tasted nice but could have tasted more garlic. The garlic was brownish in colour and that might have been the reason why the dish lacked taste of garlic. We did order one more of the same dish and unfortunately the same thing. But still ok. We also hade one dish of olives and in came a rather big dish of assorted green and black olives. A bit disappointed that the olives already were pitted which for us is a big difference in taste, to compare I would say about same difference as drinking fresh Orange juice or a juice from a paper box! We had 2 glasses of White wine with the Gambas and they tasted good. Both the Red and Whites we drank was not the house wine but the more upscale wines in the wine list. It’s nice when there are some better choices of wines as for us house wines many times tend to be very cheap tasteless wines, not to say that’s the case here as we did not taste them! We also order a main course of Prawn Skewers. 2 Skewers with each approx. 6 shrimps + fried potatoes and salad was served. An excellent tasting dill tasting dip sauce came with the dish. The only real disappointment was the Mejillones, 2 baked mussels, we both did not like the taste of them. For me it was the seasoning that I didn’t like. You do have to expect to spend a bit more money than in many other restaurants in Hua Hin but for us it’s worth the extra Bath. We did spend THB 2070 + Tip this evening. The location is good for guests without a car in the end of "Hilton street". We were one month in Portugal and Spain a few months ago and sure had a lot of Tapas there and we both did agree that Spain in Hua Hin is at Cool Breeze.
