I'm quite particular about the sort of resorts I stay at, and usually do a lot of research before deciding. So while I arrived at Cape Nidhra with high expectations, I'm glad to say I was not disappointed. Do bear in mind that the whole property is rather small, and there isn't a lot of places within the hotel to venture to. We booked the room with pool, and had requested for a higher floor, so as to avoid the mosquitoes. The room was great, although the pool was often too cold to swim in. So we hung out at the main pool - which was absolutely lovely - warm, clean and it had a great view of the sea. In was low season and there weren't many people around, apart from some couples with small kids. Service staff at this boutique hotel was really good - not super attentive but all really pleasant. The other side of the hotel (the non-sea facing side) is the main road, which I did not expect, but that didn't spoil experience staying there. Overall, a great place.

Room Tip: Ask for high floor

Negotiated a van to take 4 from Bkk to Hua Hin. Greeted well at reception, Manager is seem keeping an eye on all aspects, Assistant Manager at reception attended to any requests even after we left medicines in room she arranged for to courier to Bkk. The accommodation is spacious and private with private pool to each room no matter what level. Rooms are maintained to highest standard. Breakfast provided in our deal was good quality. The common pool required more attention as needed vacuum and grates cleaned. Since being at hotel prices have increased and more difficult to get accommodation problem is its small but good and word gets around.

Room Tip: Upstairs floors add to privacy cf ground level with garden setting. All rooms are spacious

I really recommended "Rocks" restaurant because it make me feel like home that close to swimming pool and sea, sand, sun in front of you.Besides, Baked Prawns With Garlic and Parmesan cheese that served with Black Ink Pasta very delicious and fresh. Finally, "Pavlova" cannot missed this dessert . My Family loved it so much.

We booked garden pool suite which is very spacious especially the bathroom. The private pool is sizable as well, but not too private actually. Bathroom amenities are good especially the shower gel provided. Wi-fi is not too reliable. We were not able to get into internet even with new user name and password from hotel.
Breakfast is very great with good quality. The restaurant - Rocks is very cosy and bright. We tried the seafood buffet dinner one night which is reasonably priced and in good taste.
There was a cocktail party in one day from 6pm to 7pm next to the pool. Hotel offers free drink (includes wine) and some cocktail snacks. Lovely!
We used the fitness centre as well. But I hope they can have a longer opening hour, say to 11pm, as we need to digest the dinner before doing exercise. They are now close at 9pm.

This is our second trip to Hua Hin this year. This time, we brought our children. We shared two Garden Pool Suites. It's on the ground floor and from the layout, probably the most spacious of the rooms. It didn't bother us that our neighbours above us could look into our pool. At no time did we notice anyone peering at us when we were using the pool or lounging outside and there is a retractable awning that can be extended to cover the pool in any case. Room is very spacious and comfortable. Amenities were sufficient except they didn't supply toothbrushes which we have come to assumed would be supplied given the class the hotel was categorised under.

The good parts - hotel is very near - about 700 metres from the heart of Hua Hin. About 70 metres in the opposite direction is Market Village which is the largest mall in Hua Hin. Lots of shopping and food places there. Both locations are easily walkable even under the hot weather in Hua Hin. If not, take a Tuk-tuk - usually flat fee of 100 Baht applies. Tried bargaining in the past and never got it below 100 Baht so didn't bother from then on. Breakfast is great - not the widest variety for a 5 star Thai hotel but quality is nevertheless excellent, the hotel provides enough deck chairs and loungers by the pool and in the lawn facing the sea and about 8 on the beach. This property is elongated and accessible by the beach. There is a gym which we used.

Some areas of improvement - the bedding cushions in the gazebos (there are 3 of them) next to the pool needs replacement or serious cleaning. I laid there for half an hour and got bitten by insects. The bites lasted a few days. The main pool needs cleaning as well. The internet card (a slip of paper) that they issue for Internet access should have longer expiry date or at least make the expiry date clear but they did give us a new one when asked for it without any hesitation.

For activities, we had mango sticky rice (best in Thailand we heard) in small stall adjacent to the Hiilon Hotel, had one dinner at Moon Smile restaurant along Poonsuk Road and seafood at Choa Lay Seafood. There's an ATV/paint ball/archery park in Cha Am which is about 20min away. We paid 1,000 Baht to the park for the transfers but suspect you can get a better deal from one of the taxi/tour operators along the street.

Overall we had a great short holiday and good experience at the hotel and enjoyed ourselves

Room Tip: Choose a room nearer the beach - blocks 3 or 4 - to avoid the street noise. Don't expect to have...

This is a very pleasant boutique hotel, wich is well laid out with good quality facilities in a good location. We stopped in a Moon Deck room.
Breakfast is good quality with very friendly and attentive staff. Breakfast has a good selection of cereals, hot food, fruits, breads and pastries. We did use room service which is a limited choice and not as good a standard as breakfast and with a large assortment of restaurants on the doorstep in both the immediate vicinity or in the main tourist area (10/15 min walk or 2 minutes tuk tuk ride (100 Baht agree before you ride)) there is no need to just stay at the hotel to eat.

The hotel has one main pool with numerous sala beds and sun beds, you can generally get a couple of sun beds at anytime of the day, there are also a good number of sun beds down on the grass between the pool and the sea.

Rooms - They are a reasonable size with good facilities. Each room has a pool on the balcony, ranging from those which are completely enclosed to those which have an outside pool and separate sun deck (moon deck rooms, there are four of these in total). Be aware that most rooms the pool is undercover, so no good for sunbathing. Beds are comfortable, with a pillow menu, the bathroom is large, with double sinks, large oval bath, separate rain shower and toilet. The hotel has free wifi throughout.

We have stopped in several hotels in Hua Hin, and I would definitely recommend this one as a good place to stay, it is a small hotel, which means it is able to offer a more personal touch. The staff a very friendly and helpful.

Issues:
Check in - Having been travelling for nearly 24 hours, we arrived at the hotel to be told we would have to wait 2 - 3 hours for our room to be available and speaking to other guests this seems to be a reoccurring theme. The hotel really does need to consider facilities for guests
who are waiting for rooms to become available as the reception staff seem very keen to move you out of reception.

Room - Issue with room 331, the other to rooms were absolutely fine. Our pool didn't work properly, after calling several times and different things being done each time we were told that our pool was leaking into the room below, so the pump had been turned off. This meant that water wasn't flowing as required, hence it wasn't being kept clean and chlorine wasn't being added. We spoke several times to reception regarding the matter and were told every time it was fixed, eventually we asked to speak to the Manager was not at work that day, but would come and see us the following day at 10:00hrs, they did not arrive. Initially we were told they would move us, but then they did not have another moon deck available. The pool pump was turned back on but the water was barely flowing. As the pools don't get cleaned on a regular basis (don't need to be if the pump works) then we ended up with green algae in the pool and not being able to use it at all. Pool hygiene does need to be addressed particularly as we had paid extra to have a sun deck so we didn't have to use the main pool and sun beds. So if you do book a moon deck room, room 331 should be avoided.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor and closer to the beach to avoid noises from the busy main road.
