Our romantic stay at this hotel was fantastic. I love the spacious shower (it can fit easily 5 if you wanted to :)) and the balcony jacuzzi. The jacuzzi is cold water only, but thats rather refreshing with 35 degrees Celcius outside. Other than the noisy aircon (which is standard in hotels, but would expect a bit better at such a nice hotel) the stay was without complaints. We loved the breakfast which had noodle soup and eggs at order and a fair buffet. The shopping mall "Market Village" is a 15 minute stroll away with many shops and lots of choice in fine restaurants. The beach is 5 minutes walk with few beach chairs and a small food and beverage vendor on it. The room has a dvd player and the reception rents out free dvd's :)

Room Tip: In quiet times rent a pool room, its lovely to dive from your terrace into the pool.

I have spent 3 days 2 nights @ Sea-Cret HuaHin with my husband and group of friends. We have selected this hotel since it's relatively new with reasonable price. We booked 2 pool access rooms. 3 of my friends stayed together in one room and paid for extra bed THB1,000 per night, which is not cheap. The hotel provided us only duvet on the ground for an extra person even we paid THB 1,000 per night.
Moreover, the hotel forgot to provide welcome drink and complementary fruit for our group. They brought complementary fruit to us on the last day that we stayed after getting our complain. Moreover, there were so many mosquitoes in our rooms. So our nights there were so unimpressive at all.

We have discussed not to return there. Moreover, we shall not compromise our vacation with medium price hotel.

We stayed at the Sea-Cret a week in december 2010 and stayed in a poolside suite (room no 312). Our kids 8 and 10 loved to have direct pool access and since it was a bit off season they had the pool pretty much by them selves. Wonderful!

The rooms were clean and spacious. I believe our suite was approx 80 square metres with two separate rooms.

The trip
My husband and I decided to venture back to Thailand for our one year wedding anniversary and chose Hua Hin as it is not as commercialised as the other islands/places. We also chose it as we just wanted to chill out and have some beach time, escaping the stress of working life in England. As opposed to staying in a Hilton type hotel, we found this small boutique hotel and decided to take a punt on it. What a great choice. It was a magical trip, very much enjoyable.

Hotel decor
The hotel is very.... pink! From reception to the the chairs in Jane B's restaurant, it is pink and you can't escape it. We decided to have one of the jacuzzi rooms, the only issue was that one of the towels in the bathroom was slightly dirty. I spoke to room service about it and they changed it immediatley, the next day they gave my husband and I some free food and drink as an apology.

We loved the garden and the pool is quite nice. The hotel is in fact a popular choice for pre-wedding shoots amongst Thai people and guests - we saw two film crews/photographers whilst we were there.

Hotel services
It could just be down to personal preference, but out of the seven days we were at the hotel, we only had breakfast once. It was a total waste of money to us, didn't like it at all. To be honest, was cheaper out. Also, the room service menu was awful. Not worth it, at all.

The hotel staff whilst very attentive and helpful, only a few can speak (a little) English. There is a slight language barrier, the girls during the day are the best ones to speak to. We gave up trying to communicate with the guys in the evening. For example, the wifi in the room stopped working and after failing to make the guy understand over the phone, when he came to our room I had to resort to flicking the light switch on and off to tell him the wifi was off.... poor chap still didn't understand. However, it was sorted in the morning.

The room service finished quite early, between 10-11PM. Also, the restaurant on the roof is only open during certain times of the year, so check out the availability if that's something which appeals to you.

Beach
Sea-Cret mentions a private walkway to the beach, umm.... it's not REALLY a walkway as such, only half way. The part of the beach the walk way takes you to, isn't that great to be honest. If you walk up the beach for about 15-20 minutes, it's much nicer. Massages on the beach suck, so I wouldn't reccommend one of those.

Tips
A tuk tuk to the nightmarket, Market Village (the mall) is always 100 baht. Some will try and rip you off with 150 bhat. The hotel can order taxi's for you, but they charge 150 bhat unless you say 100 baht only.

Opposite the hotel there is a spa, it's rubbish. The best spa is in fact in the Sofitel hotel. If you go to this site you get a discount if you book online - http://www.spacenvaree.com definitley worth it.

The night market is OK, nothing to shout home about though. We stayed in Chiang Mai last year and thought that night market was probably the best we'd been to in contrast to Bangkok and Phuket.

Eating out
Market Village has quite a few nice places to eat, also there are some fantastic places to eat in the night market. Great sea food places, we paid £20 for an 800g lobster, cooked to perfection! Also, a great restaurant we found was called Supatra by the Sea, it has the best Pad Thai in my opinion in Thailand and its portions are very generous.

Like
Staff were friendly and polite. After we parked the car and got off, a bellboy came with an umbrella for us, considering it was very sunny, we were so impressed. The check in process was so quick I hadn't finished my welcome drink. And we didn't have any major problem for all the time we were staying. Hotel area & room were beautifully decorated in vivid color and seashell curtains. Our room (garden view w jacuzzi) clean, comfy and quiet. There are 2 slippers and 2 fisherman pants provided in room. Bathroom was clean, with full amenities. Garden area was well maintained, so calm, suitable for relaxing, talking, reading.... The location was good too, 5 min walk to the beach and 5 min drive to the night market.

Dislike
Shower curtain rod not fixed to the wall, eventually it fell down. We had to set it up every time we took a shower. No hot water for jacuzzi, it was too cold. Mosquitoes in our room, can't just leave the door open for some fresh air. Not so many choice for the buffet breakfast.

Very beautiful pristine hotel with a jacuzzi in the room. Very spacious room with all amenities. Staff is very helpful. hotel is located far away from the action but close to the beach. Tuk tuks charge a lot to get to the main market and back. Closests mall is Miks mall. Hua Hin is more of a golfing hot spot very less partying action good place to just unwind

The Sea-Cret, in Hua Hin, is truely a hidden gem. It is a new, small, retreat style resort.
The staff: wonderful. ready to help you with anything and everything! their room service is quick and efficient (we ordered dinner to our room one night). They have lots of dvd's and games to borrow (free of charge). The reception staff were all so lovely, as were the resaurant staff.
The restaurant: food was very good quality. reasonably priced (having cheaper and more expensive options). the lunch and dinner menu has both western and thai choices. service is quick and kind.
The buffet breakfast: one of the best bffet breakfasts we experience on our trip around thailand. lots of variety - cereals, toast, muffins, bagels, croissants, fresh fruit, fresh salads, rice (boiled and fried), yoghurt, bacon, sausages, ham, etc etc. There is also an 'egg chef' who prepares eggs for you however you want - fried, scrambled, poached, omlette.
The room: we stayed in a deluxe jacuzzi room - GREAT! the room was big and roomy. the bed was huge and so comfortable. the bathroom was also big, with a wonderful shower (with a hand held shower head as well as an overhead one). The toilet was western style.
the bathroom also had all the necessities - shampoo, conditioner, soap, cotton balls&buds, body scrub, etc - which were refilled every day.
the decor in the room was modern, and the walls were very thick - sounds proof and heat proof.
The room also comes with bath/pool robes, and rubber thongs/slippers, to wear throughout the resort. There is also a safe, LCD widescreen tv and dvd player, and mini fridge. Plus a big desk/table and cupboard to store all of your belongings
The pool: the resort has a beautiful pool. an odd shape that makes up the centre of the resort (and all the rooms are situated around the outside). We were there for 4 days, and the entire time the pool was immaculately clean. There are also sun beds around the pool.
The beach: the only downside to the resort is that it is not situated directly on the beach. however, it only takes about 3-5 minutes to walk there, and they have created a little wooden path, so it is no problem or issue.

there is lots to do in and around Hua hin (night market, mountain walk, temples, monkeys, shops, great restaurants), but the sea-cret has everything you need and is a great place to just get away from everything and relax!
