“Good food, good service and a stunning location”
Reviewed December 30, 2013 via mobile

Starting with the obvious, Let's Sea is a stylish place by the sea and offers a truly wonderful atmosphere. I thought the service was top notch, and our waiter was one of the best I had met in Hua Hin.

The menu is creative and interesting offering some fusion dishes and some typical Thai dishes. I would highly recommend the truffle and parmesan fries - even though they were very different from our other typical Thai choices, they were delicious. The chicken wings were also delicious: each one presented in an individual container with a variety of sauces under each drumette. Our final appetizer was a great twist on a great Thai favorite - Me any kama (Thai kale served with a variety of condiments that you wrap together and smother in a palm sugar and fish sauce). This dish is normally served with a kind of betel nut, but the kale was a welcome substitution.

Our mains included s Duck in red curry sauce with pineapple and lychee. I have had the same dish before with only pineapple, but the lychee was an interesting addition. The sauce was well rounded and the duck was tender and juicy. Our deep fried sea bass with fish sauce and served with a green mango salad was delicious, as was our dish of broccoli and prawns. Our last main course was a pomelo and king prawn salad. I though it was delicious, but one of our party found it a little sweet.

We ended our meal with a lemongrass and kaffir lime cotton candy (fairy floss) - great fun and brought back memories of childhood carnivals and seaside holidays.

Let's Sea offers a good selection of wines at reasonable prices (reasonable for Thailand, that is!)

Let's Sea Terrace Restaurant is part of a top class resort and offers top class food and service. Naturally, you will pay more for a meal here, but is is well worth it. Highly recommended.

Dear Khun BMF60,

You must be very experienced diner from the number of reviews shown on your profile name.
Thank you very much for your comments. We are very delighted that you enjoy the meal and understand about this different option for our customers to enjoy their holidays with lifestyle and quality.

May we share some more facts about Thai dishes: "Mieng Kana" is another kind of "Mieng" it is served like this (not Kale leave to substitute Betel leave) Betel leave is used in "Mieng Kam". Both are very similar. The sauce is the same. The difference is the leave and in Mieng Kam there must be roasted shredded coconut while Mieng Kana use Kale (called Kana in Thai) and Crispy Pork fat (Let's Sea used crispy bacon) instead.

Very nice to know that you like our Roasted Duck Curry. Many Thai dishes served with fruit. This curry must served with Sweet & Sour fruit then there are many options of our tropical fruits to add. Glad that you like lychee. We also think it goes very well with duck.

Look forward to welcoming you back to enjoy more.

Warm regards,

Let's Sea Management

“its ok, but what a nice view”
Reviewed December 20, 2013

I´ve been here several times.

The food is ok, and not more than that, and the prices are to expensive compared to the quality.

Service, is ok, but not that wow, like some other places. I like to come here because of the view and the breeze, thats simply amazing.

Dear Khun BenjaminC,

Thank you for being one our regular customers.

Perhaps next time when you visit us, kindly share what you expect and we did not provide to meet your expectation.

Our food prices are always compared to other prime restaurants or basic restaurant at comparable prime view locations in Hua Hin. Our food prices are not different. Our wine & champagne prices are much less expensive. Superior House Wine served in big glass is currently priced from Baht 270++ or Baht 999++ per bottle. Veuve Clicquot Champagne 37.5 cl bottle is at Baht 2222++ or 75 cl bottle is at Baht 3999++ per bottle (we found 6500 up to more than 9000++ Baht in Hua Hin).

Thank you for mentioning about nice view. Let's Sea Hua Hin's Beach Restaurant allocates the space of almost one acre on the prime area of Hua Hin beachfront on the main beach for the only 100 seats capacity . We have been working hard in term of atmosphere management, service level and style of service. The raw material sourcing is for its best in therm of freshness and less carbon footprint while cooking process standard is very strict in term of freshness, cleanliness, and good taste per recipes. If you have any specific suggestion, you may let us know as it seems you base not too far in Hua Hin.

We look forward to welcoming you back and learning from you further what we can be better.

“over rated”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

The presentation of the food is good. However, the taste is too salty and oily. The balance of the seasoning is not in good control. e.g. the pad thai is just too sweet and the tom yum gong is just to salty. it might be a very good place for romantic couple as the environment is very moody. But not to enjoying the food.

Dear Mung M,

Thank you very much for sharing.

We are sorry that the taste of our Phad Thai and Tom Yum Kung is not the same as what you experienced or expected. Let's Sea cooks in Thai Style Family cooking. Phad Thai leading taste is normally sweet & sour while Tom Yum Kung leading taste is salty & sour. While we are very strict to follow the recipes, we can always adjust the taste per preference of individuals if we know.

Thank you for recommending our environment to romantic couples and other guests.

Sincerely,

Let's Sea Management

“Seafood dinner”
Reviewed October 26, 2013

Was very good, there is not a lot to compare to. I found the restaurants down here pretty dirty looking and I guess it's not about the comfortable surroundings it's about the food. But hard to choose which is good. This place provided comfort as well as good seafood.

“Never thought I could be pushed to leave such a bad review.”
Reviewed October 15, 2013

Beautiful Resort, Beautiful Restaurant, and Beautiful Views but overall our breakfast was extremely disappointing. The entrées were terrible and the price was shocking!

On October 10th, 2013 my wife and I decided to go out for breakfast and we had a craving for Eggs Benedict. I Google'd it and found that Let's Sea had this breakfast item and off we went. I saw the menu briefly and realized that they did not refer to it as Eggs Benedict, but rather as Poached Eggs with Hollandaise Sauce on Toast - not exactly what we wanted, but I was willing to give it a try. I also noticed that the price was 390 baht ($12.95 USD - quite steep) but we had our minds set and we were already there. We ordered one with ham and one with smoked salmon. When the waitress approached she was carrying two jugs of juice and asked if we would like to try either the strawberry/banana or the orange/pineapple. Again, not too concerned about the price we both said we would try the strawberry/banana. This was a little deceptive as we are used to waitresses coming around at other places we frequent with coffee, tea, and sometimes juices that are included with a buffet breakfast. Well, the juice was 120 baht each ($4.00 USD) which is the highest I have ever paid in Thailand for juice. If only there were a few splashes of Prosecco (Italian sparkling wine) in it then it would have been a fare price. We did receive a lovely basket of assorted breads as part of the meal with a nice marmalade, a berry jam, and some honey - definitely the highlight of the meal. When the eggs came out I was a bit surprised to see that each plate had only the toast (a decent multi-grain) with the eggs on it and 3/5 of the plate was empty accept for the tiny garnish of cole slaw (would have been nice to have had at least a reasonable portion of cole slaw). The plate looked ridiculous and while I realize the menu made no mention of side items I expected at least some form of potato (french fries, hash browns, etc.), (or) a serving of veg., or simply some sliced fruits. Still, I was optimistic and didn't want to say anything (the entire time) as I didn't want to sway my wife's judgment while she was enjoying the view and her Earl Grey Tea (130 baht - not sure how this compares as I don't drink tea). I did not see any salmon on mine until I lifted the eggs and then I could see a very small portion. The hollandaise sauce was not a sauce at this point as it had dried up completely and was just a yellow flavorless stain across the tops of the eggs. I'm used to dipping fries or bread in delicious hollandaise sauce as part of it's job is to add moisture to the meal, but this had been left in an oven too long and cooked onto the top of the eggs. Anyway, once we got the bill the total was up to 1,353.55 Baht (about $45 USD) after the 10% service charge and 7% VAT had been added. While I have paid much higher for a breakfast before, this was nowhere near the value due to quality, portion size, and taste. My wife hardly even ate her eggs, but enjoyed the bread basket as we both did. I did not say anything negative to her the entire time, but when we got home and she asked what breakfast cost her jaw almost hit the floor when I told her. If only I had hash browns, french fries, or even just a decent amount of cole slaw I probably would not have bothered to review this at all and just not gone back. I understand that a nice atmosphere and a beautiful view come at a price, but the food had better not suck.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for your visit and the business on October 10 plus your comments on tripadvisors that we can find some benefits for our developments.

Perhaps one of the reasons you chose to have a breakfast at Let's Sea Hua Hin's Beach Restaurant is atmosphere and service plus quality of food. Those really come with cost and price. We are not quite sure if the juice at Baht 120 is the most expensive in our country but certainly it is not the most expensive in Hua Hin. At Let's Sea juice service during breakfast can be refilled too. You as well as many other guests can see our team carrying jar of juice around almost all the time for refill service.

At Let's Sea when guests order Poached Egg with Hollandaise Sauce on Toast, it is two eggs, poached and served on thick slice of Campagne Bread toast with Ham, Salmon, or Spinach or Mushroom in between. Hollandaise source on top then 'gartin' before serving. Compagne bread is not small it is big enough for two eggs to be on it. We use big size fresh eggs from hens but the plate is very big then you may see a lot of space left on the plate. The restaurant provide free toast and croissant that seem delighted you in the message. That is always free when guests enjoy our breakfast and again can be refilled.

Every dishes is always decorated. For breakfast the dish decoration is different everyday and on that day the small coleslaw is for decoration.

For the tea it is TWG one of the most premium available in Thailand market is used for all chargeable tea and Dilma is used for those who enjoy free flow tea service.

The price of Two glasses of juices; Two dishes of poached egg with Hollandaise Sauce with ham and with salmon on Toast and one hot tea (with complimentary toast and croissant) is Baht 1150 plus 10% service charge and 7%VAT rally made1,353.55. per a la carte price.

We take this opportunity to share to all readers that there is another option to enjoy a lot of freshly cooked & full service breakfast indicated on the menu: "Two Hours Unlimited Order (per person) at 650++ per person. Breakfast at Let's Sea has wide range of choice of western style breakfast, Thai style breakfast, health concern breakfast, etc. All are freshly cooked and served to you table (not buffet). This seems to delight many customers like shown in other reviews and reviews in Let's Sea Hua Hin Al Fresco Resort.

By all mean we feel very sorry that we could not delight you and your wife from our breakfast service and price on October 10, 2013.

Sincerely,

Let's Sea Management
