We visited there during the chinese new year when it is also my wife's birthday. The environment is fantastic and the food there is delicious. The staff there are friendly and helpful. We do not have much time to have in depth understanding on the facilities. On the last date when we need to take the car back to Bangkok, we just found the more lovely scene on the beach. Despite there are some unpleasant mosquitoes, we just found the hotel a good place to stay. We definitely will come again and stay longer.

Room Tip: not a high rise hotel, 4 floors altogether. I wonder if there is any room that could face the ocean...

Dear Bremen1018,

Thank you so much for taking time to post a review on TripAdvisor.

We are very happy to read that you had a great stay with us while celebrating Chinese New Year. We hope on your next visit you have a bit more of time to fully enjoy all the facilities and services the resort has to offer.

Despite being a common thing in Thailand , we have a very consistent pest control schedule in place to ensure a mosquito free environment ; their apparition is very sporadic.

We look forward to welcome you soon,

Warmest Regards

Honestly I don't find Hua Hin a good place for travel, but that hotel provide me a relaxing environment with friendly staff and nice food. I found the breakfast is fantastic, the spa is of reasonable quality, price and good hygiene; the swimming pool is stunning, I enjoyed the time to swim with my son here! One of the pitfall is the kid club, I found that the facilities are not well maintained and the staff here are not actively helpful in introducing the kid club activities, I just find the toys myself and have to ask before I know how to use the tv games, cryons etc. BTW, overall experience is good, with reasonable price, i highly recommend this hotel to the trip advisor reader.

12 nigths in Intercontinental, great resort, not too big and nicely placed with private beach, lovely pool and superb sunbeds. If you are not amazed by the fantastic resort and facilities you will2 be with the service and always smiling and helping people - the is absolutely the best 5 star we have ever visited and deserves a big THANK YOU!

The full service concept is just what you are looking for, and at Intercontinental they know what they are doing, we did not have one bad experience in 12 nights, and that's really exceptional.

It was our second time visiting this hotel. Great room, good food, but most of all really great staffs. They always went above and beyond to help us during the whole stay. My son forgot his iPod in the room before checking out. The asst. FO manager, Khun Maprang, was so kind called us to notify about forgotten iPod. They finally manage to send it back to our home safe and sound. Will certainly recommend this hotel to anyone, and will surely return to stay at this hotel in the near future.

We stayed at the intercontinental at the end of a 3 week trip, we spent a couple of days in Bangkok, then headed to hua hin, it is a 3 hour car journey. We spent 5 days at the resort, and loved it! Everything about the hotel is fabulous! We arrived and were taken into the club lounge to check in, the service was wonderful, the staff were so helpful. We had a club room, so could use the club lounge. Which was a lovely area, definitely worth the additional cost. Our bedroom was huge, with a balcony with a bath. The housekeeping staff cleaned the room to a really high standard. Great location, Tuk Tuk or taxi are very cheap to get around. Beach bars and massage beds on the beach are close by and there are plenty of them that are cheaper than the hotel.

The staff in the club lounge could t do enough for you, the service was top class! The food and drinks were of a good standard too!

Wonderful hotel grounds, one of the best selections at breakfast I have ever seen, not to be missed!

Loved the pool and garden areas. The staff around the pool were really helpful and again, nothing was too much trouble!

The only negative feedback I would give is that the hotel is quiet in the evenings, we ate in the hotel two of the nights we were there, I would imagine the hotel Is quiet , as its more expensive to eat and drink there than in the town or in the beach.

I would love to go and stay here again! It was a great hotel with fabulous staff.

Room Tip: Go for a club room, well worth the additional cost

When going on a holiday, you want to spend it in a picturesque location without the worries of looking after the details. Intercontinental Huahin is on the money when it comes to location. The resort is definitely one of the most beautiful sights that I've been to. It's well maintained with its pristine beach and pool area and well manicured lawns. We were so excited when we arrived with the idea of spending 3 days in this resort gem. My wife and I agreed it was the right choice to pick Hua Hin over well known islands Bali or Phuket.

PROS:
- Great views
- Wonderful pool and beach area
- The sand is very fine and almost powdery... The sea water is a bit greenish though
- The food! Specifically food items from the Azure and Felicita. The food from the Thai restaurant was somewhat of a miss.

However as we spend more time in the resort, there were obvious shortcomings. The hallmark of great service is in the attention to details. Intercontinental is a five star hotel brand and you would expect that they would have great service to a "T". With Mandarin hotels, you're sure to get the same service almost everywhere. It's my 2nd time to stay in an IC hotel and frankly, there's no clear standard in terms of service:

- There were parts of the hotel where you can smell the stink of a dead rat. I would imagine they would immediately look for the source of the smell but the next day, it was still there.

- Because it's the beach, I think they should cater more by providing more toiletries (shampoos and conditioner, most especially). It was a turn-off to even call the housekeeping for these items. Imagine my wife's dismay when they even wanted to charge us 300 baht for extra shampoo and conditioner. Since when does a five star hotel "scrimp" on essential items like these??? And the least that you want your guests to feel is that they owe you something.

- The quality of food in Felicita is very superior but the service is really lacking. Some of the servers can't even comprehend English. For some reason, it's also undermanned. Prepare to wait 5-10 minutes after asking for something like water or fork. And I hate to pick on this but for the price they are charging, they should have more attention to the diner's experience: they were serving the main dish before the soup???? I'm not sure if this was the fault of the expediter or the wait staff but clearly, there was something wrong in the communication between the kitchen and the servers.

Intercontinental Hotel Hua Hin is a great place for a short holiday. It would have been perfect if not for some of the issues but I refused to be stressed in any way and so I really enjoyed this Valentines Day treat.

Arrived after a rather longish drive from Bangkok but once we passed through the door into the lobby with a view to the sea it was like entering a different world of peace and calm ...
Check-in, normally not my favourite activity, was not only smooth (to be expected) but also most personal with outstanding attention and excellent recognition as Royal Ambassador. As our room was changed we were shown to around the property and then invited to the Club lounge which is a nice retreat but a little tucked away (no views of the sea). Staff at the lounge was always very, very attentive and caring, regardless whether it was hints for the location or special needs of our kids.
The very large suite was simply fantastic, offering lots of space for sleeping and lounging and the layout very thought-through (enough wardrobe and drawer space to get everything out of the way). Only draw back was that the minibar did not feature any wine selection at all, but that was quickly solved by room service. One thing to mention is the balcony offering views right over the resort to the beach ... fantastic! (Even though we didn't get to use the Jaccuzzi on the balcony!)
Breakfast and restaurant service in general provided a good selection, and we enjoyed the separated individual tables which gave a great feeling of privacy.
We and especially the kids thoroughly enjoyed the beach and pool area: easy access, lots of variety of depths and plenty of sunbeds. The beach was probably the best we experienced during our stay but did get a little busy during the day ... a good excuse to take a turn in the pool!
When finishing off the day at the fireplace near the beach, overlooking the sea we thought this couldn't get any better!
Only drawback was that the city is some 4 - 5km away but taxis are easily available and we found it well worth going there for an afternoon and evening.
While everyone was very helpful we'd like to especially thank Juan and Nancy for their attention and service ... such dedication is hard to find!
Thanks for a wonderful stay at a great resort hotel which is probably on the top of our list.
