Mantra Resort

We stayed here over Easter and had a brilliant time. Staff were very friendly, pool was lovely, good breakfasts, nice room, very clean with balcony looking over pool. Only a short and cheap tuk tuk ride into Hua Hin, beach is located less than 5 minutes away from hotel. Don't let the building work nearby put you off as it had no impact on our stay and it will only improve the area further. I would recommend this hotel highly as it made our trip to Thailand and Hua Hin very enjoyable. Thank you Mantra Resort!!

My family and I were warned of the construction work when we booked this hotel but we decided not to change as it was very good value for money. The Mantra turned out to be absolutely lovely. The rooms were immaculate, the service excellent, the pool very tastefully designed and the location peaceful and just far enough out of Hua Hin for calm and tranquility. The journey into Hua Hin is a short ride costing very little, and it was lovely to enjoy the night market and the beaches knowing that the pool at our hotel would be quiet and tranquil on our return (not so the pools in the large hotels in Hua Hin where there is the usual fight for sunbeds etc!). The construction work did not disturb us at all - the cranes spoiled the view inland somewhat, but really it was irrelevant. We would highly recommend this charming little hotel if you want luxury, lovely service and peace and quiet, rather than the full on corporate hotel experience...

My family have just returned from a ten day stay at the Mantra Hotel in Hua Hin. I cannot recommend this hotel enough. The location is brilliant, two minutes for a wonderful beach, the hotel is lovely with large clean well maintained rooms each with two kingsize beds, Satellite TV, WiFi, balconies, and some rooms adjoining. The restaurant food is excellent with a varied menu, the breakfasts are great - full english if desired, thai food, fruit, cereals and a bottomless coffee pot. The staff are lovely - welcoming, friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The bar is great and the staff produce some great cocktails. The swim up bar was particularly welcome.
We were warned about building work and there was some nearby (Hua Hin is a fast developing resort...) but is was minimal, unobtrusive, and had minimal impact on us. Hua Hin town is ten minutes by Tuk Tuk (150 bahts) and the fantastic Monkey Island is a mere thirty minute beach walk, in warm sea on soft sand, with a very welcoming and friendly beach bar waiting for you.
My wife and I have been to Thailand several times and consider ourselves well travelled - and we really recommend this hotel. It is excellent value.
Thank you to all the Mantra staff for making our stay so memorable. We cannot wait to come back.

Room Tip: All rooms wlooked good to us - and we had five of them.

We found this beautiful resort while driving a moped around Hua Hin. We had a bad experience in our pre-booked hotel called Hin Nam Sai Suay. After 3 nights we changed to Mantra. That was like an oasis of peace for us. Despite there's a big construction site next to it, we were given enough of rest and peace.
The management and the workers are just great. So helpful and encouraging. They made our stay very pleasant. The room was beautiful, we had a pool view. Sleeping quality was of a high standard.
Breakfast and food in general was very good, wide selection.
We enjoyed and admired the premises. Nice pool and surroundings.
We missed a gym there though. Wifi is not free and we had some problems to stay online while staying there.
Warm greetings to Mantra resort!

Room Tip: prefer the pool-side!

nice hotel, but the location is slap bang in the middle of massive reconstruction work,so building work and horrendus noise going on at all hours..including piledrivers!!
it did inpact on our holiday, so we moved after 3 days.they also drained the swimming pool to do maintenence work, after we were there for only 2 days, we were not told this when we booked in or we would have moved then.
breakfast was good at the weekend, massive buffet, but on the monday when all the thai guests go home, there is not too much to choose from.the service staff are a little over attentive, you felt rushed..barely put down fork and they had you plate away..and you were watched constantly when you were eating, which is quite offputting!!.
nice staff though..but a huge language barrier..little english is spoken at this resort and the area of khao takib itself

Room Tip: top floor at the back we were in room 222, quite a good room.

Can we start by saying the people at this hotel were very friendly and helpful, lots of smiles and couldn't do enough for you.

Unfortunately, the location is sideways on to the beach overlooking another very plain faced property on one side and a building site on the other. When you are expecting beach and palm trees, somewhat of a shock and disappointment, you wonder where am I coming too. There is also extensive building work being carried out on the front of the property, with subsequent noise and mess.

If you do not have any transport it will cost you 150b each way for a taxi into town, something to bear in mind when budgeting for your holiday. If you have a mind to walk up to the main road you can catch the local bus for 10b per person before 19.00pm and 15b until 21.00 when it stops. If you wanted to try and walk the whole way its about 2 miles which may seem easy until you see the pavements and feel the heat.

It is true our room was clean and spacious and clean linens everyday but paradise location it is not, which for us is the reason for a holiday. We also did not like the jelly fish on the beach therefore preferred to do our swimming in the pool which was qwerky to take advantage of the small space but refreshing when you are so hot.

Be prepared to share this hotel at the weekend with lots of people from Bangkok but have the place nearly to yourself during the week.

This is only a personal opinion and we are not having a go at anyone as we have mentioned the staff are lovely, just a shame for us about the location.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view

We had a great stay during our trip. The rooms were clean and tidy. The staff went out of their way to be friendly and were very good with my kids. The pool was good and the location excellent. A 100m walk and you are on the beach. A short drive into town. Overall very satisfied with tariff, the room and facilities. I would recommend the Mantara to anyone, do not worry about the building works as others have mentioned. It did not affect our stay in the slightest.
