Very interesting and learned a bit more about the religion. A lovely ride out. I loved the Gold Trees.

We were driving out to the Hua Hin Vineyards and stopped here on the way. Of course it is free to park and walk round. Plenty of photo opportunities and an amazing sight. There are lakes to walk around for those a little more energetic. There is a shop selling food, drinks, ice creams etc... an ATM machine?!?!? and plenty of quality souvenirs to purchase. Not too far from town too!

I visited in hopes of learning more about the monk who did wonders for Hua Hin back when it was still a fishing village but only to find that it was a mere tour attraction for both locals and tourists alike. Not worth taking a 1200baht taxi ride over as there is public transport available for only about 50 baht across from Market Village.

We spent 6 hours walking through & exploring the beautiful place. We made reservations through our hotel ( White Sand ) for a private taxi tour.. the driver was an excellent guide & even took pictures for us. The Wat, statues & surrounding grounds were all very beautiful. The Wat honors one of Thailand's most revered monks. Don't miss this place if you are in Hua Hin.

... lots of visitors, few foreigners. I was enchanted by the place. to the extent I took some photos and three of them have ended up as artwork of 6 x 9 metre dimensions on my walls in my home here in Thailand . Definitely worth the visit to get a real sense of Thai beliefs/people - the former from what it all stands for and the latter to see Thai people reacting to the environment
