“Lovely experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2012

This resort has the most beautiful gardens and well appointed rooms. I stayed in a villa suite which was enormous.
Early October is obviously a low tourist time, hence it was not crowded and busy, instead it was very quiet and peaceful.
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The meals in the resturant were good quality and not expensive. Happy hour proved popular for an array of cheap cocktails!
The pools are glorious and long enough to be able to swim some good laps in.

I returned from my 2 night stay at Asara Villa & Suite and I was very impressed. I stayed in Holiday Suite (#246), which was huge and had a lot of nice amenities and stylish design. It was just next to a big pool (the pool close to reception, not the one at the beach) that was always empty so it felt like a private pool. The lagoon style pool at the beach is huge and very relaxing with nice views of the ocean. The resort grounds were well kept and full of interesting greenery. The beachfront is perfect for relaxing with a lot of beach chairs and swing beds suitable for a nap. The sea itself is not so inviting as usual in Hua Hin but I didn't mind it at all as the pools were so impressive.

Breakfast was great, nothing more I could ask for. The selection of jams was the best part of it. They have at least 20 different home made jams to sample.

A free afternoon tea/coffee with a small snack was served everyday from 3-4pm. The hotel also provided a free shuttle to Hua Hin town at 6pm and 8pm, returning at 8.30pm and 10.30pm.

Service was fine for me, no complaints about that. At check-in I was asked what time I would like to check-out, which was a nice addition. So I got a late check-out without having to ask for it.

All in all I was very happy with Asara Villa and would be happy to return soon.

I had lunch in the Kampu restaurant 3 times and the food was ok and reasonably priced for a 5 star resort. Thai food, was more expensive than western food, which is very uncommon in Thailand. The pizza was ok but we got the feeling that it didn't come straight out of the oven. Also the Club Sandwich was a bit weak for 300B.

One thing that I found very weird is that they claim the Holiday Suite is 120sqm but I would seriously say that it is not over 60sqm. I didn't really care because it is huge anyway, but I was just wondering how they have measured it. Notice also that the Holiday Suite is quite far from the beach, about a 5 min walk.

The hotel, rooms, and grounds are lovely, relaxing, and well appointed. The holiday suite in which we stayed was large and very comfortable, with a very large bathroom including an outdoor shower. The shortcomings, to include location, food and staff, are significant. The hotel is located well away from outside eating establishments, which is unfortunate as the hotel's food is disappointing. The main issue for us was the staff. We found them unfriendly, unmotivated, unprofessional, and otherwise uninterested in providing services as one expects in a hotel of 2 stars, much less a resort boasting 5 stars. If you don't much care about food and service, this is an excellent choice.

We spent 5 nights at Asara in August 2012. Overall, this was a lovely place to stay. Quiet, good facilities, excellent breakfast, terrific staff. I think their downfall is that there is a lack of information for the local area. No information such as local maps - we had to ask for this. Also, tour information was limited and was booked through the hotel to a company called Western Tours. As we didnt want to do a whole day tour, there was nothing available for us. Instead we went directly to Western Tours and made our request, which was much cheaper.
Day Spa was average. The indian head massage I requested was nothing like it should have been.
All restaurant and bar staff were pleasant and helpful. They made the stay most enjoyable.

The suite itself is specious and neat.
The sandals and bag provided in room made our trip to beach/ swimming pool very convenient.
There are 2 sets of swimming pools for adults and kids respectively located at both side of the property. We didnt have to walk all the way through the resort to go swimming.
It would be better if the shuttle van to downtown could be more frequent.

It was our first time to Hua Hin and never got to see anything except for the facilities offered by Asara. It was such a great place to retreat from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok that we decided to stay at the resort and not venture out. The Pool Villa we stayed in was excellent and met expectations fully. A short walk from the villa was the main pool and beach area where we spent most of our time. Having 2 small children they were kept entertained in the child friendly pool. The service at the resort although I wouldn't consider it warm and friendly it was certainly efficient and I put the less friendly approach down to the language barrier. Although most staff could speak English it was limited. The food at the outlets was great but the child options are limited and my Thai partner considered the Thai dishes to be average and probably tailored for foreign taste and as I thought they were good I would have to agree with her critique. The breakfast was very comprehensive and plenty of choice available for all tastes. One of the highlights of the stay was the beachside BBQ, it was relatively expensive but I would consider it value for money for the food and the added ambience of being seaside. Overall I considered the resort well priced, except for the BBQ all other costs were reasonable and far better than you would suffer in similar beachside resorts of this category. The excellent rating well deserved the only area of improvement in my opinion is for the staff to be a bit more "warm" in their approach, after all it is the land of smiles.

Room Tip: The pool at the villa is only for plunging but is a nice added extra to the standard villa. In our...

By any standards an excellent resort to relax and enjoy the lazy weather at Hua Hin! The Resort is tastefully decorated and is neat and clean, staff is friendly and welcoming! Even the facilities are pretty good, nice spa and great food! Before visiting the place we had heard it would be a tough task to find vegetarian food, which surprisingly wasn't the case, although, variety on that front could be better handled! Infact, the finishing touch to a 4 day long stay left a brilliant mark on us, we checked out at 5am, and they actually packed us a breakfast box (vegetarian that too). Couple of issues that we faced were language, the city being such a brilliant tourist attraction, drawing visitors from all over the globe, the staff need to be able to understand and speak english better, and the other issue we faced was the large variety of insects and lizards. But this last issue is probably a personal issue as we seem to be made only to stay in luxury business hotels, tropical resorts are not meant for us!

Room Tip: The pool villas are brilliant! Offers privacy and space!
