Hat Yai Floating Market
Ranked #4 of 12 Shopping in Hat Yai
Attraction details
Reviewed October 2, 2013

After a short trip from the town (about 10~15 minutes drive), arriving at Khlong Hae. A short walk (200~300m) from the drop off point to floating market, there are stalls along the way selling foods, drinks, souvenirs, clothes even fried scorpion, fried bettles , etc... something like night market.

At the end of the street, you will need to cross a wooden bridge to opposite of river, stalls still available after the river. You will see all boats parking at the riverbank on your left. They selling appealing foods and drinks that you may want to buy, things are not expensive but don't expect high quality. Just go to enjoy the village life and relaxing moment.

Place is crowded in the evening as it's the best time to visit. Beside the boats, you can find most of the things in town as well.

When there during early evening & it was only 5 minutes as I stepped at the place, rain were pouring hard. Spoil my mood all together. The walkways were muddy & you could get wet even though you're with umbrella. Food over there looks nice but not very hygienic.

This is basically a lake with several sampans moored to a rickety pontoon. There are about 50 stalls along this walkway and you can sample many Thai delicacies, though not the best of the pick. There are plenty of stalls to shop at but beware ... prices are higher than at Hat Yai morning market.
Wear light clothing and be prepared to walk in crowds. Wat Khlong Hae across the bridge is worth a visit.

It is not so big market but still worth to see. You can find a lot of different food here, very delicious and fresh, what is more important. Some part of town do not serve very fresh food, but here you don't need to worry about it. Ant the most important after visiting the float market you will have very good pictures for your memories. As I live here i recommend this market, and do not forgot to ask for discount :).

This so called floating market in hatyai is man-made to look like a floating market. This is not a moving boats market as suggested but a well arranged type of fixed place market on the river side. In Bangkok the moving boats along its river are a great sight to watch and the activities along the river made it very interesting unlike hatyai floating market it is dead and have no moving activities. The products, offered are mainly cooked food, not much of varieties, comparing to Bangkok floating market where you can see very crowded boats loads with banana, coconuts and local foods and sometimes you have to queue and manipulate your way in the crowded river. Here in Hatyai the mood is orderly. In fact you can give a miss to hatyai floating market and see a actual floating market in Bangkok
