“Not a actual floating market”
Reviewed July 24, 2013

This so called floating market in hatyai is man-made to look like a floating market. This is not a moving boats market as suggested but a well arranged type of fixed place market on the river side. In Bangkok the moving boats along its river are a great sight to watch and the activities along the river made it very interesting unlike hatyai floating market it is dead and have no moving activities. The products, offered are mainly cooked food, not much of varieties, comparing to Bangkok floating market where you can see very crowded boats loads with banana, coconuts and local foods and sometimes you have to queue and manipulate your way in the crowded river. Here in Hatyai the mood is orderly. In fact you can give a miss to hatyai floating market and see a actual floating market in Bangkok

“Colorful sights and Thai culinary delights”
Reviewed June 25, 2013

When you hear Floating market it reminds you of Bangkok's floating market where you take a boat ride to visit. This one is different, in that you needn't take a boat as the food vendors are lined along the river bank. Here colorful sights and Thai culinary delights greets you. The vendors are mostly ladies and they are dressed in colorful costumes, presumably a traditional costume of the region. And they are all adored with special hats. A wide range of delightful 'street food' with a multitude of colors, aroma and taste are on offer.
There is also a cluster of huts selling tourist souvenirs and garments.

“Small but interesting floating market”
Reviewed June 17, 2013

Not as big or as interesting as the floating market at Damnern saduak near Bangkok, but worth a bit of your time if your in the area, all the boats are moored to the jetty and you walk along the jetty to buy food and local souvenirs from the vendors. Many of whom were wearing traditional Thai dress which made for some good photos.
The freshly cooked food was very good and a good price.
If you fancy a bargain have a go at haggling the price you can usually get a few baht discount!!!

“Place filled with local food; albeit seemed a bit dirty”
Reviewed June 16, 2013

Much prefer the Bangkok Damnernsaduak floating market to this one in Hat Yai; but its an interesting experience if you have not been to one. The one in Bangkok you can actually hire a boat and sit through the market; whilst this one; all the boats are docked and you purchase food from them. Come with an empty stomach. Market is known as Klong Hae floating market.
