To reach this place, the best way is to take a Tuk Tuk which cost about 250 to 300 bath for 2 person and remember it is a two way ticket, so you don't have to pay twice. Opening time is weekend only and from 5.30 to 9.30 local time, so do not get there too late or you may be shopping in the dark. Upon reaching there, you will be drop at the entrance of the floating market, and your driver will wait for you there, do not pay them until you are taken back where you are being pick up.

As you walk through the road, you start to see stalls being set up along the road to the floating market, selling food, clothing, accessories and shoes. A short walk is all you need to reach the river part of the floating market and over there they sell wide range of local food - from Mee soup, fried bird egg, drinks, ice cream, fried meat, fried potato and some other local snack such as fried worms, priced from 20 to 40 bath per serving.

Personally recommend to start your journey by 5PM, so when you arrive it is still in day time so you can have a good look at the local floating market scenery, which you shouldn't miss out. And local call this place, Khlong hae floating market, so tell this to your tuk tuk driver and they will know where you want to go.

Nice and colorful atmosphere!

Though it's not completely a floating market like what you may expect after visiting the one in Bangkok, yet this one gives you a much more local atmosphere. The lady vendors on the boat wear straw hats with colorful flowers decorated. The way food is displayed and presented are colorful and tempting. It's hard not wanting to try the food here!

There are wide selections of food, from noodles soup, fried food, jello, assorted dessert to various drinks. I tried a number of different food, and beyond what I expected, they tasted great. I especially like the freshly fried potato chip.

It's a small market, yet it's somewhat big enough for me to wander for 3 hours! Other than the line of floating boats, there are also other stalls on land. A number of them sell clothes and accessories, some sell souvenir t-shirts.

This floating market is located outside of Hat Yai city. The most convenient of method of reaching here is to hire a tuk tuk and request for the driver to wait for you (negotiate an acceptable and reasonable deal for both parties!).

!st time to the floating market. Really different concept from bangkok floating market.
The entrance walkway have stalls selling interesting stuffs from fried insects - sound card speaker all at reasonable low price.
Then as we cross the bridge, its quite a sight. all the boats lined side by side at the shore selling snacks! The food were great and cheap. I order coconut drink from this boat vendor, he ask me if i want bamboo mug or clay mug (shape of hello kitty or doraemon) really cute.. Ordered the BBQ sliced chicken.. sunny side quaid eggs & mini sweet potatoes... etc..

Took less than 2hrs i finish exploring the place..
