“Big but getting old”
Reviewed December 12, 2013

Stay at Lee Garden plaza hotel for a night. Feels like the hotel overloaded with people. Rooms are getting old , no hot water as well, and when contacted , they request for wait until the hot water come which is never up to 20 min running the tap. Kind of disapointed. The hotel charge for a bouffe dinner 170BHT , which is feel worth. The food quality is not that good. The location of the hotel is in mid center , which is a good news. Other than that nothing much interested over there. Tight checking every time you enter the hotel or the plaza.

Stayed there twice in year 2005 and i am not sure whether it remains the same.
There was algae at one corner or the window.
Instead of having a standard queen sized bed, there were 2 single sized mattresses joined together and covered with queen sized bedsheet and blanket.

On the positive side, it is located above a shopping mall and surrounded by shophouses and street stalls which makes dining and shopping right at your doorstep.
Another point to commend is the swimming pool seems to be well maintained by a full-time staff.

Whenever we go Hatyai, we would prefer to stay at this hotel due to it's strategic location right smack in the middle of the town centre. There are other good hotels nearby but nothing beats the atmosphere, excitement, crowd and happenings the moment you stepped out of the building - food stalls, souvenir stalls, tuktuk, Central dept. store, 7-11, McD, KFC, Swensens and lots more. Great local foods are within few minutes walking distance.

As mentioned by many other travellers, the hotel has aged but still the room is still okay for us; it's big, and part of the room is now with laminated wooden floor tiles. Walk in rate was THB1350 inclusive of breakfast for 2 (and 2 bottles of drinking water/day) and in Hatyai, you can easily purchased a hotel voucher from any of the travel agencies in town for a better rate (+/-THB100 or more savings). I believed this system is practised only here. Breakfast here is acceptable and will be crowded when there are public holidays in S'pore & M'sia. A point to note though, hotels here tend to increase the room rate during holidays in S'pore & M'sia, where most of the guests are from.

The Sky Buffet is now temporary shifted to the Lobby at 10th floor due to renovation. They have not mentioned when it will be re-open. Previously located at 33rd floor, one could get a great view of Hatyai itself while having your dinner there.

Overall, it was still a good stay due to its location.

Overall a not bad hotel. Centrally located on top of a mall with Mc Donald's and Swensens as my all time fav when I visit Hatyai besides the tempting street snacks, other malls and markets within steps of walking + food stalls. Big room. It was being repainted for the exterior after the 'incident'. Everything is getting back in shape after that. Wifi available, even at the mall. Good view to have sky buffet @ 33rd floor.

My friends insisted that they wanted to stay right in the center of the city on 22 Aug 2013 and we brought a discount lee garden hotel's voucher from the travel agent for Baht 1000+per night(with no breakfast). much cheaper than the rate quoted by the hotel reception. We were above 65 yrs old and the hotel gave special buffet dinner for only Baht 119 only, the buffet spread was good. Other than a cheap dinner buffet, other services were not that good. Previously whilst having dinner at the top 33rd level you can enjoy a great views of the evening and night scenery of the whole hatyai city, nowaday the 33rd level was closed and you had your dinner at the 10th level with limited views of the surrounding. Security was well maintained, as you enter the ground floor, you must pass through a body checking machine before you could take a lift to the hotel 10th floor lobby for check-in

Room Tip: All rooms are high floors from 11th to 32th floor, the highest floor gives better views
