Owner description: A cultural exploration of the nine major hill tribes.

The giant basket made for threshing -
A big surprise.
The kids trikes and other toys -whimsical and refreshing.
The text on bamboo - informative and backed up with good examples.
The textiles- medium quality with a preachy text about not buying the local's goodies.
This small museum is a must see for anyone into local culture.

Good introduction to the hill tribes. Especially the movie. Interesting information about the opium trade.
Well worth a visit.

We enjoyed the DVD and also the fact that the profits for the handicrafts went directly to those who produced them.

This is above a very highly recommended restaurant Cabbages and Condoms-initially the impression is dusty and deserted but take time and look closely and you start to feel for the loss of past skills-the needlework is exquisite-and lost communities. The hill tribes have a raw deal in modern Thailand and every little helps

Ok so the Museum looks more like an informative cluster of school displays but don't judge a book by its cover! It was highly informative pre tour and I learnt a lot about the Hill Tribes. really glad I went here prior to my tour!

(Located above Cabbages and Condoms - a chain restaurant. I would definitely not recommend eating there though!)
