“really nice restaurant on the river in Chiang Rai”
Reviewed August 17, 2013

We were disappointed by some of the recommendations for the restaurants in the city center but this one was great. It is a 4 minute walk from the Le Meridien and ask patiently for an English menu, they have a few but if they are in use you need to wait.

Thailand is known for really good food and this restaurant is a great example. There is a pork dish of tamarind and curry which is a northern specialty which is just to die for. Service is good, food is great, nice setting on the river and no karaoke! Will be under 200 baht per person with beer for a meal you will not forget. Every dish we ordered was very good!

“Good Thai food”
Reviewed July 17, 2013

When we walked in this restaurant they looked surprised to see tourists, which was a good thing and the restaurant was full with Thai guests. Great location and table right at the river: beautiful! Very good service from a guy who spoke very well English and recommended some typical Thais dishes that we tried.
Especially the Thai fingerfood plate with all kinds of pork sausages etc. was delicious, but also the Northern Thai dish; a pork stove, was very good! Try this restaurant when you are in Chiang Rai! But tell the tuktuk to go to Le Meridien hotel (it is in the same street) because our driver wanted to drop us off somewhere at the other side of the city...

“Very good food”

…and a bit cheaper than the neighboring Lelawadee. Also not nearly as loud since the sound from the Lelawadee band is enough for the whole river front.

“Great dinner by the river”
Reviewed February 7, 2013

Great place to have dinner (or lunch) by the river, but get there before 8:30 pm, otherwise the kitchen is closed and you won't be able to eat!

“Riverside Thai Cuisine on the top”
Reviewed January 19, 2013

The only bad we can tell about LuLum is that we found the place at the last day of our stay in Chiang Rai. So we only had the chance to dinne there once. The place was fully packed by locals and served the real flavor of Thai Food. Very brave people can check out "duragee" or crocodile which might suit perfect to the great river side location. The staff is extremely helpful and with their little English skill you should manage to order your food. We had around 6 different dishes so it's the best to pick as much as possible from their fresh kitchen and share. The place is decorated with plenty of photographs from Thai Celebrity so maybe you're lucky by spotting one. The restaurant is on the road to Le Meridien Hotel.
