“If you need a proper Shopping Centre this is it!”
Reviewed July 11, 2014

This is where everybody in Chiang Rai actually goes shopping, so if you are looking for proper shopping then this is the place to come. You will also find your favourite restaurant chains here, KFC McDonalds, The Pizza Company, Japanese and coffee bars galore. Plenty of clothes shops, Robinsons and Tops supermarket. You will also find the cinema here too. (Fairly high-end by Thai standards) In short, real city shopping. If you are looking for souvenirs, I'd recommend you head to the night market.

“Nice relaxing mall not far from town”
Reviewed June 24, 2014

There is a mall branded shuttle that appears randomly in central chiang rai, failing this 60B each way in a Tuk tuk will sort you out. Useful place to go to get yourself started off with supplies and a thai SIM. Lots of western and other food outlets, local produce market style and good supermarkets. Very nice cinema on the top floor, english language films are dependant on which week and which film so worth keeping an eye on. Overall, very rarely packed with customers and relaxing to walk around some nice shops.

“Finally, Chiang Rai gets its fair share of the shopping action!”
Reviewed February 8, 2014

I am very happy to discover this huge mall, which did not exist last time I was there 4 years ago. It's a little out of town, but a ride to get there should be about 60 Baht or less. I am very impressed by the size and the nice design. Like the one in Chiang Mai, it has almost everything you may want of a modern shopping centre. All the shops I had difficulty to find before are all here, Boots, Robinson dept. store, S&P, Watsons....etc etc. I thoroughly enjoyed myself here after a day tour. A great place to wind down, and for a good meal. Outside the mall, there is some sort of small bazaar too, which makes this place even more interesting (One can almost skip the night bazaar for this one). A great place to pick some souvenirs, I can recommend it highly. From now on, I no longer needed to head back down to BKK to shop, as I could get most of what I need up here in the north.

“Nice mall”
Reviewed September 28, 2013

I went to this mall a few times. It is a western type mall. It is a nice layout and the movie theater is nice. This is the one place in Chiang Rai that many people congregate at. It is a great place for people watching. They usually have a few English speaking movies with Thai subtitles so it was nice to be able to catch a couple movies while I was there.

“A first rate, large, western style shopping mall”
Reviewed May 17, 2013

The ground floor has a few shops selling Thai cultural items and a large upmarket TOPS supermarket.

The first floor has all the fast food outlets, McDonalds, KFC, Chesters Grill, S&P, Swensens Ice Cream Parlor, a large electrical superstore and mobile phone shops.

The second floor has more upmarket restaurants, several Japanese restaurants like the excellent Fuji, Korean style BBQ, Thai like MK, and Sizzler's Grill & Salad Bar as well as a fast food court selling high quality Thai food at very cheap prices.

The top floor has a childrens entertainment zone full of slot machines and a safe play area together with a 5 screen international cinema.

Robinsons Department Store is also on site.

Central Shopping Mall is "the" center of Thai Social life, it is crowded almost all times of the day.
