Stayed at this hotel on a Sunday night in February 2014. The hotel had few guests and so it was generally quiet. We stayed in a bungalow and it had a patio with a nice view of the tea plantation and the mountains. The bungalow was adequate and the size was okay. The breakfast had limited selection. The price was high for a quiet time at a generally average property.

We ended up at Flower Hills Resort after our first choice was fully booked and we wanted to treat ourselves. The resort has beautiful gardens and views over the tea plantations. We had one of the VIP rooms in the hotel and the room was really nice. Very spacious and luxurious with stunning views.

The service at the hotel was however not to the standard you would have expected from a hotel like this. As everyone also said, the restaurant and food was terrible! The only way to get coffee is to go to the little coffee shop on the premises, at a price of course! The food was also not to the standard you would expect.

Quite pricey and nice rooms, but the service and restaurant is letting this property down.

Room Tip: VIP room in the hotel.

Our second stay at this hotel has not inspired us for a third stay. A really nice Hotel with stunning views and lots going for it, but let down by poor overall management. There seems to be little oversight and and attention to detail in room cleaning and service. Linen quality standards have been allowed to slide as well. Our room smelled musty and lacked adequate furniture for anything more than a one night stay. The upstairs A/C unit anchored to the wall caused a lot of noise in our room overnight. The restaurant is very average in terms of service and food quality with the empasis on churning out bulk food with little care for presentation and the niceties one would expect at a hotel of this type. (e.g. fresh coffee with fresh milk would be a huge improvement) There appeared to be too many idle and consequently bored staff that clearly lacked training and/or interest in their work. Fewer staff with adequate training and becoming a little more engaged with people would make a big difference to dining at this restaurant and the overall feeling of this place. Happy to recommend a stay here but be aware of what you are buying and have due regard for the remoteness of this location when considering your expectations.

Room Tip: Upper rooms would be best. Good WiFi, poor cell phone coverage. Phones in room appear broken.

As soon as we saw the place we decided we had to stay there. The gardens were fantastic and the pool was huge. Was going to stay 4 nights and just relax but was told they could not take credit card as the system wasn't working. Quite expensive hotel so didn't want to use most of my cash so only stayed 2 nights - thank goodness. Found the same excuse in a couple of other hotels in Thailand - maybe they just want to pocket the cash. The room had no soap - phone in room wasn't working so had to ring on the mobile. Told they don't have soap so sent some bath gel - what a joke. Asked for some pool towels - told to use the room ones - said "no send some more up". Next morning at 8.30am went for a swim - told couldn't swim as pool was being cleaned - sign said pool opened from 7am to 7pm so I went in. Breakfast was terrible. Didn't even think about dinner - went to the Chinese place up the road (Mae Salong Villas) - excellent meals plus very friendly unlike Flower Hills. Room was large, clean and bed comfortable. Shower resembled something out of Dr Who.

We visited this resort high up in the hills overlooking Myanmar as part of a tour to Northern Thailand. From the outside it looked stunning. The beautiful gardens were immaculate and the view was to die for. But the rest...
To start with we arrived about 5pm and found that after a hot tiring day travelling and sightseeing that we couldn't use the pool as it was undergoing renovations and empty. It would have been idyllic soaking our weary bodies while overlooking the views. There was a second smaller pool but that was green!
We checked into our room with a balcony overlooking the view. Stunning we thought. Then we had dinner which was only average. None of the waitresses spoke English so we were glad that our tour guide could communicate with them.
On returning to our room we found that the bed was covered in ants! Not just a few but covered! There was nothing in our belongings on the bed that would have attracted them. So I went to reception to ask for another room but no-one spoke English. I eventually found our tour leader who arranged for us to have the room next door, which only had twin beds not a double. As it was the only room available, we had to take it. So we moved next door and once settled in found that the bathroom, including the toilet seat, the bowl, the shower and the basin was riddled with ants too. We could follow their trail along the floor and through the window.
Oh well, we thought, at least they weren't on the bed so we settled down to watch TV. Not one of the many channels was in English. The shower door was broken and although the ants left us alone, we didn't get a good sleep knowing they were close and could 'attack' us at any time.
Next morning, we asked the other 2 couples if they had a similar problem but it seems as if we were the only 'lucky' ones.
It was a shame as the setting was lovely but I'm afraid we won't be going there again.

Room Tip: Don't get the rooms with the ants!!
