On arrival late in the day. We discovered that our prebooked rooms with double bed had been swapped for single bed rooms. It appears, first in best dressed. The hotel was full with local (Thai ) tourist. Over priced large rooms with ordinary breakfast. Car parking space.

Room Tip: Standard rooms the best value over deluxe.

This is a good option for a family holiday as it is not easy to find a place in this town if you bring along kids. The guesthouse rooms are mistly double and rarely triple and prices are not much lower there.
We spent 8 plus 3 days in a spacious family suite with two separate rooms and our kids enjoyed the large swimming pool. The staff was friendly snd cooperative and we could leave the bulk of our luggage with them when we went on a three day trip to Chiangmai. Our Thai frieds could use the pool and the spacious (another big plus if you have your own wheels in Chiang Rai!!!) parking lot when they came to visit us or to pick us up to go to the nearby night market and restaurant areas.. The rooms are basic but ours was very quiet and always tidy. Breakfast was plentiful and wr had lots of fruit, eggs made to order and a good selection of Asian food.
For that we paid 1800 Baht incl. breakfast.
There is also an inexpensive airport shuttle-400 Baht per ride for 4 persons & luggage..

I really cannot understand these negative comments posted by others. Perhaps they have actually been staying at the Diamond Park Inn, which is a lot more downscale and not recommendable.
If you want to have more luxury there are lots of resorts in town. But there you will be charged 5000 Baht more for four persons and are in the middle of nowhere!

We visited this hotel as part of an organised tour. The rooms were very big and on arrival extremely hot. The air-con seemed to have difficulty coping with the size of the room. I used the pool, which was a fair distance from the accommodation - the water was so warm that it wasn't refreshing - but this is Thailand! The restaurant was also in a separate building so could be annoying during the wet season. The breakfast was adequate though.
Another negative was NO LIFT - well not in our building across the entrance from reception (there may have been one in the main building though - it would pay to check). Although it is only 2 storeys high, it isn't really what you need after a long trip. The bell hops took the bags up but of course not down in the morning when we left. It would therefore not be suitable for those who have mobility issues.
Our tour guide showed us a short-cut to the night market, which was good but if you didn't know about that it would be a longer walk there.

Room Tip: As mentioned above, if you have mobility issues, check if there is a lift or get a room on the groun...

Reasonable size rooms. All en suite but all in need of renovation. As with most older hotels, the number of power points for charging mobiles, iPads, etc. was inadequate. Good central location and plenty of parking space.

This hotel was the only bad part of an otherwise excellent tour of Northern Thailand. The room was spartan, and noisy. Breakfast was at most acceptable. When we were leaving from our third floor room, a porter grabbed our bags and bounded down the stairs with them. When we got down, I found a broken handle on one suitcase, and the porter was gone.

My biggest complaint about this hotel was the poor night's sleep I got. I had a room right above reception and there were tour buses coming and going until early hours. Wouldn't have been so bad but they left engines running for ages. Room was really basic and food was poor. The pool looked good but did not try it as I arrived quite late. Breakfast was basic too. Overall, a bit of a let down by Thai standards with no welcoming Thai hospitality.

Hotel is hard to find, big complex surrounded by high fences. We arrived on foot from the train station but it turned out that the entrance was miles around the back and would have been nearly an extra KM to walk so we squeezed through a gap in the fencing right near reception! Rooms were strange, twin beds, mattress straight on high platform so going to the toilet in the night was a little trying! Very noisy corridor with echoing sounds and chatt and noisy karaoke till midnight

nice pool
not the best breakfast
good location
