“Definitely a Must See”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

The building is amazing. The murals in the main building and hanging pots in the gardens have quirky subjects if you look. It is easy to see why this is so popular.

“The White Temple is worth seeing”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

This extraordinary temple is also an ongoing art project. It's not far from town (an easy bus ride or motorbike trip). It's free and definitely worth checking out. If you rent a motorbike there's a nice waterfall about 18 km further down the same road (signs for it along the way).

“Chiang Rai Landmark”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

You could spend a long time here. There's so much to see. The more you look at the different areas, the more detail you pick up on. It's such a massive undertaking that it's not completed yet. I got to see them working on making the mirror chips and then applying them to the temple. Two things to keep in mind: 1) Once you start up the ramp into the temple, there is no turning back. You have to go completely through and start over. They also don't want you stopping up traffic, so there is a man on a loud speaker that will tell you to keep moving if he sees you dawdle for too long. 2) Ladies are not allowed to go into the temple wearing a skirt or shorts that stop above the knee, or bare shoulders. If you need it, they have free sarongs to borrow.

Also on the property are: the world's nicest bathroom, a gallery of artwork, a gallery of prints for purchase and other souvenirs, and food vendors.

“"The White Temple"”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

I consider this to be the most beautiful man-made spot in Thailand. It sparkles from a distance. If you want great photos-here is the place to take them. Good place to see artwork of local artists like, Chalermchai Kositpipat., who created this magnificent temple.

“Unique - worth the trip!”
Reviewed October 18, 2012

With the bright sun shining, the temple is blinding white and dazzling as all the little mirrors sparkle and reflect light in all directions. It is an amazing realization of the designer's vision -- make sure you take the time to appreciate the murals inside as well. Also visit the 'most beautiful bathroom in the world' - it lives up to its billing! We also enjoyed a behind the scenes look at the artisans work area where they continue to create the adornments for areas that are yet to be completed.
