We stayed at the Le Meridien for two nights in mid October and it was a remarkable experience. Upon arrival we were immediately greeted by the staff and were quickly checked in. Each family in our group had an attendant who took them to their respective rooms and provided information about the amenities at our disposal. At the pool, we were quickly greeted by a cheerful and friendly staff member who got us all settled with the right number of umbrellas and shade. His smile was radiant and he was always smiling. We were treated with a daily breakfast buffet at a table outside. The food was wonderful and the service was impeccable. Our drinks were never empty and the second day, we were treated with special samples of different foods. We were contacted each day by the management staff who inquired about our stay and always asked if there was anything they could do for us. Our rooms were spacious and most comfortable. The resort is in a peaceful and tranquil setting which was very relaxing.

Every time we returned to the resort from our day trips we were immediately greeted once again by the gracious and courteous front office staff. In addition to all the other treats, the manager made arrangements for massages for several members of our group and those were heavenly. Check out was quick and efficient and when we departed, the entire staff was at the bottom of the steps to wave good bye. I highly recommend Le Meridien Resort.

Our stay for 5 nights early October 2011 was fantastic and the top hightlight of all our stays (some 740 nights at Starwood hotels) at this chain of hotels. Suberb (food) service, excellent attention of very friendly staff and great benefits for Platinum members ( upgrade, free breakfast and two free cocktails in the evening bar). The F&B Manager, Renaud Mahe, took special care of us and arranged for great take away breakfast box the last morning we had to leave very early to the border in Laos. The location of the hotel is just great, lots of green, the river and great swimming pools!
Can only recommend this hotel for a very relaxing and quiet. Free shuttle available if you look for animation in Chiang Rai city.

From the moment we arrived, met by a staff member for each family in our group, our stay at Le Meridien in Chiang Rai was perfect. Check in was a breeze. The guest rooms are large and very comfortable. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Our foot massages in the spa were some of the best I've had. Beautiful setting and wonderful staff. I've only experienced this level of service at the Four Seasons in downtown Philadelphia. The manager, Justin Malcolm, has done a great job.

Room Tip: Our balcony overlooked the pool and river. Great view.

We were met at the reception by friendly staff and served cool drinks, asked if we wanted an upgrade, which we chose and checked in to a wonderful, big and lovely room. It had a large balcony with views of the river and the pool.
At the pool you're given free water, pool towels and cool towels for you face scented with lemon - what a treat!
Hotel grounds are beautiful - everywhere you go is a perfect picture! Gardeners are constantly looking to improve the settings.
We met the managers quite a few times, always saying hello, asking if they could do anything to make our stay more pleasant.
Breakfast was the best breakfast buffet we've tried in the 3 and a half week we've been traveling this time in Thailand. Fresh juices, homemade müesli, eggs as you like and best of all, bacon freshly made:-)
No, there's not much to do in Chiang Rai City. The night market is ok - cheaper than in Chiang Mai. But not much else.
We spend a couple of days relaxing and for that, this hotel is perfect!

We were very excited to visit Chiang Rai and were planning on staying at the Four Seasons until I read trip advisor reviews on this property. We are very loyal Starwood members so it was definitely worth researching their hotel in the area. I was startled when I read the manager's name with his review responses. We had the luxury of meeting him on vacation last year when he was at the Sheraton Maldives. What a small world! Based upon that alone I knew this is where we had to go. Justin Malcolm is an outstanding manager and we knew we would receive first class service at one of his resorts and we were not let down. The property is divine and provides the ultimate surroundings to relax. The rooms were spacious and offered great balcony space overlooking the pool and river. We hired a driver through the resort to do a day of sightseeing at the Golden Triangle. We also hired the hotel boat to take us to an elephant camp. It is an unbelievable experience taking the hour long trip to get there and then the excitement of riding the elephants. We utilized the hotel shuttle twice to go into town and the market. That is an awesome perk so take advantage. The food was amazing and we were able to meet their new Executive Chef, Kuan. His food was incredible and creative like his personality!! We stayed at 4 Le Meridien Hotels throughout our Thailand vacation and this was by far our best experience! We will forever cherish our memories made at Le Meridien Chiang Rai.

Dear traveltini

What a sincere pleasure it was having you stay with us at Le Meridien Chiang Rai Resort, I couldn't believe we had the opportunity to catch up again after getting to know you both in Maldives. I'm extremely pleased you loved your visit and rated us at the best Le Meridien you stayed in during your trip to Thailand.

Kuan is already planning what he's going to put together for you both when you come back again! He and the team have made wonderful changes to some of our menus and I know he'd value your feedback... Just the excuse you need to return I'm sure!

I'm not sure if you had the chance to watch the Associate vs Management football match we had scheduled during your visit, I was the one out of breathe & close to passing out in case you did, much to everyone's delight.

I hope our paths cross again soon. I've sent you a separate email and I look forward to keeping in touch.

Best wishes

Justin
