“A tired old hotel but kids will like it”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 17, 2013

Possessing Accor Le Club Platinum membership means nothing at this hotel. No priority check-in, No welcome drink, No Gift, No automatic upgrade (you have to negotiate this at check in, as well as a late check out) We did get free WiFi, but again, it had to be requested.

Check-in seemed to take forever and involved filling out forms even though I booked through the Accor website and entered all this information beforehand.

The rooms offer a great view, however they're tired and in need of maintenance, the wind whistles through the windows, the minibar is in fact an empty refrigerator, there’s no bathtub - even in the Suite rooms.

Breakfast was nothing special, 3 domestic coffee machines and 1 toaster clearly isn’t enough for the hundreds of guests at 8am. In fact I’d suggest not bothering with the buffet breakfast and grab a coffee and croissant downstairs at the coffee shop instead.

Room service and the restaurant by the sea were both good and surprising inexpensive. Both have dedicated menus for kids with plenty of options.

The pool is large and great for kids as well as adults. The KidsWorld has a limited selection of toys for the under 5’s however the main attraction for them is the ball-room - of which our son loved. Older children also have PS2’s, a great TV room, a Pool table and Table Futsal to play with. There’s even a separate nursery with cots.

In short, a great view, good kids facilities, average everything else, poor front desk service and an absolute zero for Le Club Platinum recognition.

Room Tip: Suites are at the corner of the hotel and away from the lifts

Dear GadgetB,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on your stay with us, it is very much appreciated and important to us.

I am sorry we did not live up to the expectations in terms of the overall arrival ensuring that the Le Club benefits are offered immediately. I am sharing your experience with the team for us to learn from this and to ensure we prepare the arrival for our loyal members and offer all the benefits you are entitled too and beyond.

I was glad to read your enjoyed our value for money offer at the Ocean Terrace restaurant. Kindly be informed that we offer four types of breakfast should you find the buffet not suitable, ranging from an a la carte breakfast at Ocean Terrace, express breakfast at the lobby café Espressino and now we are introducing an executive breakfast from December onwards served in our wine cellar.

Once again, thank you for giving us the opportunity to improve and we hope you will give us the opportunity to serve you better in the future.

Kind Regards,

Alexander Parry

The 2 night stay was fun at this Novatel property. The rooms were spacious with nice furniture. You have a private balcony attached to your place facing the pool chased by SEA. Awesome view. Helpful staff and good service.

Room Tip: Sea facing

In reviewing this property, I must say that the location is extremely good, right on the water with an enormous swimming pool, the thing that let the place down was the food. Good Breakfasts, however the fixed Lunch and Dinner menues were boring, the limited options available left a lot to be desired. To enjoy the place fully, you have to pay extra to eat from the "a la carte" menues. Cannot complain about the service which was basically good, communication however in English
not terrific, some things got lost in translation. Bedrooms great, very large and all rooms had good sea views and balconies, Any one travelling here should consider eating at some of the local restaurants which were quite close to the Resort.

We stayed 10 nights on this trip. Our 3 rd stay and previously we stayed in a deluxe room but this time upgraded to a suite. The balcony was amazing : views from 23rd floor spectacular.
Room was well cleaned.
The staff are fantastic -everyday we were greeted by the security at the gate, the reception team, pool team, happy hour bar!! We felt really really welcomed and valued. Khun Sine and Khun Denise went out of their way to welcome us back.
Look out for the specials at the hotel : very good food and cheap (!) happy hours.
As the name suggests neither in Hua Hin or Cha Am. Meaning you see some of real Thailand on the doorstep : local restaurants (try Aroi Dee)and bars, laundry plus 711 on the doorstep. Hotel provides courtesy bus into Hua Hin and Cha Am. Plenty to do if you want but otherwise you can relax and enjoy your stay.

October 2013... my second stay. Once again, the service, food and facilities were all excellent. The rooms are light and airy with fantastic views. Appreciated the balcony, and also the raised and covered walkway from the breezy and welcoming lobby to the great pool, spa and Café on the Beach. The street at the resort entrance has a 7Eleven and a nice collection of cafes, bars etc. for a bit of variety if you so desire. It is such a pleasant place to stay, I am already looking forward to the next visit. Many thanks to all the staff.

This is a great family hotel - the staff were very friendly and helpful, the pool was fabulous, the breakfasts were great. The pool is as great as it looks in the photos - and the waterslide was a great hit with our daughters.

The rooms are a good size, all with sea views and we enjoyed the balcony to sit outside.

The hotel is located about half way between Hua Hin and Cha'am in a little village which has a number of good restaurants, tailors and Thai massage. There's also a 7/11 which was well stocked.

We can recommend the Thai restaurant on the beach - just right of the hotel as you look out from the pool, the Family Thai restaurant in the village and Harry's, if you want a change in menu - homemade pizzas with great fresh ingredients - even cheese from a local Italian cheese maker.

The hotel operates a regular shuttle into Hua Hin - but if the times don't work, it's only a 300 baht taxi fare.

Hua hin had some good shopping - the night market was fun and great for dinner too. The Village Market was also a modern shopping centre.

Our daughter was ill while we were staying in the hotel - the staff were very caring and have us great advice to go to a hospital in town - where our daughter also received great care. The hotel staff couldn't have done more for us - we really appreciated the way they enquired to see how she was. Fom, one of the Managers was amazing - thank you!

We stayed as a family in Oct 13.When we arrived they stated that the room only had a King bed even though we had booked through the accor website which stated 2 adults and 2 children for that room.We have book this in the past and has always had a fold out couch or extra beds placed in.In the booking it didn't mention any extra costs for bedding. The manager was quick to to fix the issue by offering us one free roll out bed which was a great resolution to the issue. The rooms are neat and clean and quite big with a balcony that all rooms have great ocean views. The pool is great and clean and has good levels for all swimming levels. It also has a great water slide for kids. The pool has a good swim up bar with lots of happy hours and daily promotions.Prices around the pool are cheapish. The kids club is pretty good open from 0900-2100.One side has the little kid area and the other has the bigger kid area with play stations. They do have a sign in and sign out process for children but this is not required as children need to be supervised at all times even though there is an employee present. The kid s club can get busy with often 40 kids in both areas. They do have some good activities for additional small fees,T shift printing ETC.The hotel has a coffee shop/ bakery which is pretty good.We only ate Breakfast and around the pool. The first morning for breakfast was a disaster. We arrived at 0930 and waited till 0945 to get a table.when we got a table there was no food left at the buffet only a bit a bread for toast.there was no glasses for coffee or juice.I asked the staff 3 times about the lack of food up until 1030 with out luck and had given in with 30 mins to go.Eventually the manger arrived and explained that had under estimated the food and was very sorry. He offered we not pay that day and the next for breakfast.I understand we all make mistakes and this was a fantastic piece of recovery in customer service. The next 3 days were excellent at breakfast. The hotel has free shuttles to Hua Hin at certain times which is handy .The lifts are small and only 3 of them and can make it time consuming at times to get in and out.The 10 restaurants ,7/11, 5 bars and10 massages are from 100m away to 500m away. They are all very cheap and great value. We ate at Mermaid and Family restaurants which were nice and costs around $25 AUD including drinks.Overall a great place to stay and would definitely go back. The shortfalls were quickly fixed by management.

Room Tip: all rooms have ocean views
