I have liked the journey to the temple most. The locality and the surroundings are peaceful and relaxing.

This is a tourist trap - nothing of interest, a complete waste of time. I can't imagine how this can be considered a 'palace', it's just a bunch of wooden walkeays, and some women making cotton.

Visited the palace with friends to show a visitor around Hua Hin. Always been curious about this and it was not disappointment. The location is good being next to the beach. The bathing area of the servants have chairs leading up to the next chamber where it was great to relax and stare out to the sea. The gardens are beautifully manicured and well-taken care of with live band playing on the west-end. You can see from the visiting locals that this is a very important place for them. The staff was very polite and helpful as well. The parking was wide so we didn't have any trouble looking for a spot. It would have been better though if there were more items displayed or there was a proper museum to read up on. Still, it was a great time walking for a lazy afternoon.

I paid 30 baht hoping to see a thai palace. All i am allowed to see is the bare grounds of grass and a fountain only, as there is no access to higher level. It definitely not worth the time and the entrance charge. I left very soon a quick walkaround ,after a staff told us we can't go up to see the rooms.

If you wish to get away from the hustle and bustle of modern Hua Hin, then a trip to Klai Kang Won Palace is well worthwhile. Positioned on the sea shore in beautiful gardens, the palace benefits from shade from many mature trees and the cooling breeeze off the sea. Its open wooden design must have provided very comfortable accomodation for the Royal family in earlier times.

It can get a little crowded but it is easy to time your walk around the building to avoid any coach parties and spend the time waiting for the crowd to disburse by walking around the tranquil gardens.
