“Small, secluded little place, great staff”
Reviewed May 28, 2013

We stayed here during May 2013 with friends and family for two nights. Overall, this is a great place if you want to be away from hustle and bustle of a tourist place.
In summary:
Pros:
1. Clean, big rooms
2. Great, helpful staff
3. Nice food. Breakfast is average, but Thai Veg food for lunch we tried was very good
4. Good proportion pool
5. Neat and clean property, nice ceramic arrangement
Cons:
1. Beach, though nearby, doesn't exist when there's tide (however small tide may be), so practically you have to go to nearby beach few hundred meters or Long beach- 9 km- away
2. Odd arrangement of bath area in rooms- as soon as you enter the room you have a basin/shower/WC, so if someone is using it, nobody can come in or go out of the room. This may also create some privacy issue when travelling in a group
Here are some details:
This resort is located far from main Cha-am area, particularly long beach, but we selected this resort to keep away from these tourist spots!!! Also, if you are looking for happening places/ night markets, this may not be the place for you. But for families with their own transport, this is a perfect place to stay.
Rooms are big, clean and have good selection of furniture / furnishing. Bed/pillows are good for sound sleep. A minibar and tea-coffee arrangements are there, in case you need it. Breakfast was standard, but enough. Some vegetarian choices we got, so not a major problem.
Restaurant serves good Thai food. Food prepared was fresh and delicious.
The best part of the resort is its staff. Always smiling and helpful. In particular, we would like to thank Kh. Kittipong (Food Manager) who helped us with vegetarian food since our first day lunch. Like him, many of the staff speaks good English. Front office staff was equally helpful. Check-in / out was efficient and quick.
Facility-wise, they have a nice pool. Practically it was for us most of the time, so children enjoyed it very much. Resort provides drop-off service to Cha-am with charge. Internet is free, but was very weak in the room. They have decorated resort with colourful ceramics, also placed some of them in the room- we liked the concept. We also saw some restaurants and a 7-11 when we were strolling nearby.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay very much. This got 4* just because of beach, otherwise a 5* place. We can definitely recommend.

Room Tip: We stayed in rooms 2404-2406. 4th floor, nice view of sea- away from hotel of course. Rooms in the b...

Fantastic, friendly and attentative staff ( looking for an iPad charger at midnight they managed to get hold of one and lend it to me for our stay.) Rooms are splendid : clean , bright and this is really a great place to stay. Super pool area, nice breakfast and the one time we eat in , food was divine. At the rate offered this was excellent value for money. Location was a quiet area just outside cha am but we preffered this for the peace and tranquility...taxi into hu hain took 15-20 mins max. Only regret is we did not have longer to stay. We will be coming back next .

Room Tip: Go for the upper floors with the balcony .. Fantastic views of the sea and mountains on the other si...

Traveled by train from Bangkok to Cha Am. An enjoyable trip lasting about three and a half hours. Taxis were on hand at Cha Am station for the twenty minute trip out to Cera Resort.
First impressions upon arrival at the hotel were very positive. The place is exceptionally well cared for, spotlessly clean and displaying a flair for creative use of bright and cheerful ceramics.
Reception staff were efficient, cheerful and welcoming.
Upstairs, the high standards continued. The room was bright and airy and the creative use of ceramics was also evident in the bathroom with some delightful quirky touches.
The buffet breakfast offered a varied selection of Thai and International fare. Everything looked and tasted delicious.
Just one regret on the final day,- should have booked a longer stay.

This was our third time on Cera Resort and it speaks for it self, I guess.
And furthermore, we are going back in the second part of august and in November this year. That should really explain what we think of Cera resort.
It is fantastic and much more.

But of course, you have to enjoy GOOD FOOD, something Cera Resort really have.
Don’t miss it.
And, up in the village it can be rather hot in the evenings, but down in Cera there is a soft breeze all the time and you can sit in the garden whit all their flowers and enjoy your meal. It is LOVELY.

It is an advantage if you like peace and quite, strolling around, take a walk on the beach, go to one of the nearest beech restaurants’, just sit there, take a beer or what you prefer, feel the lovely breeze and listen to the sea.

Go out in the village, it is a pearl, look at all the flowers and the life in the village.
It happens something there all the time.

Since November 2012, the hotel have started whit a shuttle bus to the nearest beach and to the Night market in HuaHin.
And more is to come.

And, in the surroundings, whit that I mean, HuaHin, Cha Am, Phetchaburi , Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi is a lot to see. Both in the near, but nothing is more far away than you make it in a day or a half day. So enjoy and relax.

/Dan & Eva

Room Tip: Book the high building and enjoy a fantastic view and a wonderful sunset almost every evening.

We booked this last minute based on the reviews on here are were not disappointed. First all the good things...

1. The staff are quite possibly the friendliest I have ever come across at a hotel. They were always playing with our daughter, helping sterilise baby bottles and providing answers to any questions we had about the local area. Fantastic.

2. The food was good and very reasonably priced - we generally ate there at lunchtime and both western and Thai options were great. Breakfast was good - especially the Thai omelette! The cooking class was nice too!

3. Our room was very nice and the hotel provided a lovely little cot for our daughter.Furnishing was very quirky with brightly coloured pottery all around.

4. Whilst not a large pool, it was very clean and kept at a fantastic temperature to cool down from the Cha-Am heat.

5. Was actually in a small village south of Cha-Am called Bang Kwae (i think) - about half way to Hua Hin - so was very quiet though one in a row of a few hotels (Regent beach, Novotel and others).

The only negatives may not even be negatives for some people, but:

1. The bar closes very early - even for residents. If there is no one there, it closes it seems. Whilst not a big issue for us there were a couple of nights we came back from the village at 9.30pm to have a nightcap only to find the bar closed.

2. The village is very quiet and very much the preserve of the more ahem, mature traveller. Whilst we had our daughter so were quite happy with that - it may put off others. The local bars and restaurants were in general fine, but all very similar in terms of menu. The best food we had was to be found in Hua Hin.

3. The hotel is next to the beach but unfortunately the beach has been eroded away to the extent that Cera (I believe the Novotel and Regent) only has a beach during low tide. The hotel does however provide a shuttle to the beachfront 2 km north which is nice and you can rent loungers etc there.

4. Not a lot can be done but a pet hate is where people come down at 6.30am to put towels on sunbeds and then disappear until 11am. In some cases they left them all day and came back at 5pm having spent 1hr at most at the pool! If people spend the day at the pool afterwards then fine, but it was really annoying.

Overall - an excellent little hotel. Would I go back? If i was in the area - absolutely.

Cera Resort is one of the best hotel i have stayed at in Thailand.

The rooms are big and very clean. No sounds from outside Big bathroom with bathtub and separate shower. The bed was a little bit hard but I like it anyway. Breakfast was average but okey.

The beach outside hotel is not so good but hotel have free shuttle service to nearest beach (Cha Am beach)

I didn't like the location and the area outside the hotel was very dark. It was also many dogs outside the hotel. But you can find some really good restaurant near the hotel that was cheap.

Room Tip: If you want seaview choose a deluxe room
