Stayed here for 4 nights. Lovely room; really good standard. Breakfast very very good. Location is great too especially if you prefer quieter places. Big disappointment is the pigeons!! And the pigeon poop in the swimming pools.

The hotel entrance is cool and welcoming. Important items for us and their rating.
Check in - smooth and informative
Room - cool and spacious
Breakfast - great food what ever your nationalty.
Pools - there are 3 pools, one on each level. The 3rd level pool is child free - BRILLIANT
Food - we dinned at the hotel restraraunt and it was top class Asian Euro mix. THE PIZZA WAS GREAT.
Cocktails - very drinkable and well priced, by the pool.
Staff - just fantastic, helpful, spoke English well, gentle and you could tell they loved the hotel.
Free - Bikes just ask at reception

Bangkok families arrive on a Satuerday and leave Sunday morning, Thai's are very gentle people, but all children are noisy, If you want an especially child free time avoid Saturdays. Or go over to the beach where the hotel has umbrellas and chairs secured for guests.

This is great well run hotel, perfect to relax and enjoy a holiday. We hired bikes, ate in the local spots and went to the market in Cha am each morning for exercise, fruit and delicious Thai sweets.

We had a great time here in Tara Mantra. The room was big. Although it had no own beach, we could still get the 'sight-seaing' from our room. The design was unique. The room was big and clean. The food was good. the staffs were friendly. The most terrific thing here was the peaceful atmosphere, not too crowded. Would definitely recommend to friends.

A wonderful hotel with great service just across the road from a beautiful clean beach.
My only problem with this hotel is the looks I get when joining the Scandinavian guests at breakfast (fantastic spread of foods). My wife is Thai, (of 7 years), and is 24 years my junior.
You would think from the expressions on the faces of said guests that I had picked her up in a bar the previous evening! Not that there are any bars in Cha-Am where one could manage this feat.
So, despite the Calvinistic views of these closed-minded Scandinavians, the hotel is a definite must to stay at in Cha-Am.
It also has a good restaurant by the main pool, with good value food.
Great place - just bring an open mind!

Our family took two rooms at the Tara Mantra Resort at Chaam. We had a family room and an ordinary two single bed room. The family room was a lovely surprise. It was quite large by today hotel standards. It had a double bed and a single bed and a small sitting area where the tv was located. There were two balconies. The other room was similar in size to other hotels - two single beds. The price of the rooms was good value. The beds and bedding were new and comfortable.

The staff were very helpful. There was some initial confusion because our booking had specified an additional portable bed which we didn't need. The staff actually arranged for us to be refunded this cost through our booking agent which we had undertaken to fix when we returned to Bangkok. Great customer service taking the initiative to do this.

We enjoyed the pool which is on several levels - although narrow it provides lots of space for groups of people. We had lunch by the pool for convenience - although tasty it was a bit more expensive than similar restaurants in Chaam.

The breakfast buffet included both cooked and cold foods catering for different nationalities. I would rate it as good/average. There was plenty to eat. The problem with the breakfast room was it was too cold.

There seemed to be some teething problems relating to water at the hotel. Our bathroom seemed to retain water under the basin. It didn't trouble us too much because it was out of the way and we used the bathroom mats. Towels and mats were changed daily. There was also a towel in the middle of the corridor near the room where my daughters were staying. It was collecting drips from the ceiling.

The location of the hotel was good. The beach is just a short walk - the hotel ends up at the road across from the beach. Chaam beach had a bit too much rubbish on it for my liking. There are several massage places right near the entrance to the hotel. We had foot massages and oil massages at Mum Sabai. They were very relaxing.

Chaam is busy on the weekend but much quieter during the week. There was a big difference between the number of guests at Sunday breakfast and Monday breakfast. Sunday was quite crowded.

The wifi provided at the hotel was free.

We enjoyed our stay, particularly in the family room and were impressed with the customer service. We would stay again for the relaxed atmosphere.
