“Great time from the beginning to the end!”

My colleagues and I had the office retreat at this hotel for 3 days and 2 nights. Upon arrival, staff gave us a warm welcome with compliment welcome drink -a glass of refreshing blue fizzy lemon drink. We were then escorted to the room. My room was on the lower level, close to the playground. When I found out that there were many mosquitoes, I called the front office. They apologised and offered me a free upgrade to Grand Deluxe which is on the 4th floor of the building. From there, I had an ocean view.

On the balcony, you'll also find a swing with soft leather cushion. My colleagues and I had a great time chatting on this very balcony. Room service was also very good. They're very quick at delivering a bucket of ice to the room even at late hours.

Bedding: It's excellent - soft and firm.

There is also a set of stereo system in the room but i didn't get the chance to use it. i was told that you can plug your mp3 in and it will play your music.

Pool was great though it closed at 7 p.m. We weren't able to swim until the morning of our last day. The other nice thing about the pool is that it's not deep so the water is quite warm and make it even nicer when you swim on the sunny or cloudy day. They also got a slider for kids.

I booked Grand Deluxe room for 1 night at springfield@sea, even it's low season we were charged a little less than rack rate. The resort looks new but there is ants running around in bed room.

At night the water in the toilet turn to be brown color with sand, which i have to use drinking water to brush. When we fill water in bath tub it's look like recycle water.

Swimming pool has jacuzzi but they did not turn it all because there is only few guests when I ask them to switch it on. It only last for 5 mins

It take more than 15 mins to find some staff to take drink order at the pool

The beach in front of the hotel is all dirty.

I went to Hua hin many times before, this hotel is one of the worse.

I make a complaint to the staff, there is response what they said is "pls fill in the complaint form.

I will definite not going back to this resort ever again

I recently stayed at Springfield @Sea for a business trip. Overall it was a good stay. A similar but smaller hotel in the area is YaiYa, you may want to compare these two.

Location: the hotel is next to the springfield condos, on the main road south of cha-am. Despite having a road separating the hotel from the beach, they did a nice job of designing the resort to feel as if it's actually beachfront. The beach in front of the hotel is nice. It's probably about 15 minutes north of HH city center via taxi.

Rooms: Nice, modern, clean. Good sized balconies and good A/C. Beds were a bit firm for my taste. Most rooms have a view of something, the pool, the beach etc, but mine had a nice view of the playground and kiddie play area. Eh. Bummer. Showers have tons of jets, entertaining.

Restaurants: good choice of restaurants. Since i was on business we had catered buffets for meals, they were delicious. The buffet breakfast, served in the main dining area, was also good.

Pool and facilities: WOW, what a great pool. Not deep, but you just want to spend the whole time in it. Great kids pool with waterslide, and a nice play area next to it. Kids would really enjoy this! Facilities were very clean and well maintained (it's a new resort). I only wish they had a swim-up bar to go with this great pool! (although the pool bar can probably bring drinks to the edge of the pool!

Service: Still a few flaws. Overall the staff was very helpful and hospitable. However, I did have a few problems when calling the front desk (often they did not have english speaking staff answering.) Also, on my first morning, a little before 7:00, a strange "music-box" type tune turned on. I thought it was the neighbor but soon realized that it was the hotel's "ambience music" with the volume set REALLY HIGH, and a speaker outside the door. It took 3 calls to the front desk and about 20 minutes to get them to turn down the noise. Thankfully, it didn't happen twice.

Overall, if travelling with Kids, or wanting the services and facilities of a bigger hotel, without the "big hotel" feel, this is a great choice. I personally think I give yaiya resort a BIT of an edge, but not by much. Both excellent choices in the Hua hin area!
