For 1000 baht/ night (about $30 USD) you can get a "cabana room" that is pretty nice, but nothing exceptional. The shower was hot and the air con was cold so that is always good. There's also a TV in the room with a couple of channels in English. The bed was pretty comfortable but there was big tear in the sheet.
If you ask its easy to get a room right on the pool which is surrounded by jungle-ish trees and rocks and has a fake waterfall that is soothing to the ears. However, because it is in a courtyard the pool gets barely any sun during the day and there are no lounge chairs to sit on around it.
There is a hot tub that looks like it would be nice, but it was not filled with water. The sauna and steam room next to it were also out of service.
As for service, the ladies that worked the front desk were nice. There's a free breakfast buffet in the morning with both Thai and Western food that is decent. One thing is that, a cleaning lady opened the door to our room without knocking first or asking if anyone was in the room. She barged in. I was naked. Lucky her. I'm sure it was an accident and I don't really care too much, but obviously this would bother most people.
Overall, for the price its okay, but there's better options out there IMO. As for the spa, I did not use it, but my girlfriend did and had a good experience. The spa prices aren't bad either.

Room Tip: Many of the cabana rooms on the first floor are right next to the pool which is nice. Just ask if t...

I currently live in the dump that is Surat Thani, so compared to everything else in this town, this is for sure a step up.

My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary because we didn't have time to go out of town. We were impressed with the lobby, but the staff were something else. I've learned that Thai hospitality is a joke at best, so this wasn't much different. These girls in particular were too busy texting and looking in the mirror to check us in right away and then they gave us disgusted looks when they saw us with motorbike helmets and rain gear (it was raining and we drive a motorbike!! This is Thailand!).

Anyway, the room was nice. A bit dark, but comfortable. The pool area was beautiful but there were a bunch of screaming kids and a bus load of Japanese tourists that had noisily taken over there area. Not exactly romantic, but it wasn't the hotel's fault.

Overall, the room and the hotel were pleasant. The staff need some sticks removed from their nether regions, but if you have the unfortunate luck of having to stay in Surat over night, definitely stay here.

Oh, and the free breakfast buffet was nice!

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the pool

Do not attempt to arrange a car pick-up with them. You can survive a night here if you manage a room without mosquitos (or can kill them).

Leave your bags at the reception and check out and choose your room first.

Not sure why it calls itself a resort. Pretty standard hotel IMHO. There is no beach within walking distance nor any sights worth mentioning. Only stayed one night on the way to vietnam by car. Positives include ample parking space, a big tesco opposite and reasonably clean massage facilities on site.

A grand Thai style hotel. No complaints except the mustiness of the room. Obviously the floods have affected this place and they haven't aired the rooms out enough to combat this. Service was pleasant and unobtrusive but we couldn't really communicate our room service order. Probably just a language barrier over the phone. Nowhere else to eat here though because it's just a highway stopover motel. Nice pool although very shady so not really ideal for sunbathing around. Pretty gardens though. Clean and comfortable rooms and fairly quiet except when inconsiderate people wheel noisy suitcases along the titled hallway outside your door. Nice and close to the Tesco Lotus to get a good idea of tru Thai life. Don't wear a singlet and little shorts like I did - none of the other women do and you will get a few looks - this is not touristville and the locals expect a little decorum! I would stay here again for a stopover but nothing else would take me to Surat Thani, also, check your receipt if you shop at Tesco Lotus - two massive overcharges! Awesome massages available at the hotel. Fantastic breakfast; Thai and western buffet.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the far end of the corridor.

Spent one night herein April. Reasonable rates starting at 770 baht for a double room. I opted for a first floor room with balcony overlooking the pool for 1000. This hotel is situated on the bypass opposite Tesco Lotus. It has a large carpark, a grand foyer with awide sweeping staircase to the upper floors. The first thing you notice is surly staff. I don't think I saw any of them smile to me or anyone else the whole time I was there. Unlike anywhere else in Thailand where they never stop. The room was large and pleasant apart from a damp patch in the ceiling and a slight musty smell. The staff had forgotten to supply two towels and it took two phone calls and twenty five minutes to get them. The free breakfast was adequate, but again the staff were too lazy to top up the cutlery when it ran out. Overall the hotel is ok for a one night stay, but it could be so much better with a little maintainence and better management
