Billed as a 4 km hike, this trail seemed like 12 km. Cannot.move fast due to washed out trail conditions. But the worst part were the leaches that jump onto your shoes from the trail and inch themselves up to socks and skin where they immediately bore in and suck your blood. There were literally millions on the trail itself. Let me repeat. These leaches were on the trail. Into today I thought I could avoid the water to be leach free, but not here. Every few minutes we had to stop and scrape off the wiggling devils as they worked their way up our shoes. We inevitably lost the battle and had multiple wounds including or industrious bigger that worked his way under the tongue of.my shoe where he fattened up on my blood for the day. That hole bleed for about 4 hours after I discovered it due to the anticoagulant from.the leach. After slogging through this for 3 hours we just turned around to cut our losses. There were no views or lookout from the trail either. This was the worst hiking experience I have ever had.
