“Sip-ed-Chun trail poorly maintained and leach infested.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 14, 2013

Billed as a 4 km hike, this trail seemed like 12 km. Cannot.move fast due to washed out trail conditions. But the worst part were the leaches that jump onto your shoes from the trail and inch themselves up to socks and skin where they immediately bore in and suck your blood. There were literally millions on the trail itself. Let me repeat. These leaches were on the trail. Into today I thought I could avoid the water to be leach free, but not here. Every few minutes we had to stop and scrape off the wiggling devils as they worked their way up our shoes. We inevitably lost the battle and had multiple wounds including or industrious bigger that worked his way under the tongue of.my shoe where he fattened up on my blood for the day. That hole bleed for about 4 hours after I discovered it due to the anticoagulant from.the leach. After slogging through this for 3 hours we just turned around to cut our losses. There were no views or lookout from the trail either. This was the worst hiking experience I have ever had.

“Wonderfull nature”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2013

We went on a overnight stay on the lake in this amazing national park.
The limestone walls and the soft warm water are a beatifull experience.
The accomodation is very basic but you don't worry about that because you just can't stop looking around you and enjoy this silent, mystical natural phenomenon.
It was the highlight in the trip to Soutern Thailand.

“A beatiful gem in the hills”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 8, 2013

This is a very nice park to visit. You can hike along rivers to pristine waterfalls. There is wildlife everywhere. You can take a boat ride across stunning Chow Larn Lake to a little village. You can eat lunch there, go swimming and then hike to a cave. This was the most amazing experience. You literally go spelunkering in an underground miniature whitewater river. A very cool place.

“The lake is incredible”

If you are in Thailand go NOW! I am not sure how long this place will be this untouched. The lake made my year, peace, tranquility and natural beauty. The animals were somewhat lacking though.
