My wife and I spent one day visiting the rain forest but in reality you need 2-3 days to have enough enough time to thoroughly enjoy it. While there isn't much wildlife to be seen (as described by other reviewers) the views are really fantastic. We went on an all day lake tour and cave tour which was a great time. They picked us up, provided lunch and free time to swim, and a guide that led our group around all day who spoke extremely good english. The cave tour was amazing; there was a decent hike before it through the rainforest as well. My strong recommendation is get some good water shoes, don't wear sneakers or hiking boots or they'll get ruined in all of the water you end up trudging through. The cave is flooded so most of the time you're standing in water. There's a nominal fee to enter the park as well. The views of the surrounding mountains are unmatched. One of the most beautiful places we saw in Thailand.

One of the best holiday I ever have in Thailand! I have been there during peak season of Chinese New Year Holiday. Even though its full with local and foreign tourists we still managed to get 2 raft houses with the help of local people. They are so friendly and helpful! Overall cost was very cheap, for a night stay complete with to and fro boat & cave exploration we only paid 1,450 THB per person. A deal that you will never get in my own country, Malaysia. Best place for retreat, no phone signal/line, no internet and electrical supply by generator from 6pm to 12am! I will definitely come back.
We stayed at Sai Chol raft house (www.saicholsourthernthailand). The raft house have a very nice karst background and the lake is crystal clear. Kayak is free for use. If you need transport to get there I recommend you to call this Thai lady who can speak good English - Ms Kwan 081-9035287. www.Thairainforest.com her facebook Thai Rainforest.

By saying that Khao Sok National Park is older and more diverse than the Amazon, the tourist propaganda projects a completely unrealistic picture. Any comparison to the majesty of the Amazon rainforest with its mighty rivers and gigantic trees is totally ridiculous. Khao Sok is a mere tourist trap for people who cannot see the forest for the trees. Avoid at all cost.

Khao Sok National Park - River Canoe tours - DONT GO!!!!!!!!!!!.
we did a day trip to the national park , jungle and bamboo rafting ! I think maybe if the guide was better maybe it would have made the tour better . High light was a QUICK dip in the stream at park to cool off the raft is better than canoe but still only a a foot of water anyway . On our tour was only the two of us and the guide and driver. we had to stop a couple of times for the driver to buy smokes and pick up a package from a friend . Lunch was ok Could see more things in my back yard than on tour Very Poor EFFORT.

Khao Sok is definitely worth a visit, tho don't necessarily expect to see a lot of wildlife. Travellers rave about staying overnight on Chien Leow lake and it certainly is worth doing. The guide we had was excellent, friendly, trustworthy, and very knowledgable. He told us a lot about the insects, and other small creatures we saw. The boat trips to and around the lake were lovely. The trek to the cave with the stream in it was exciting and challenging and the small group we travelled with was very pleasant and friendly. the overnight raft accommodation on the lake was very basic and toilet facilities are as to be expected. The food was extremely good however.
