In this small situated island, this seems to be the best hotel there is. It was clean and although out of date. Did a great job for one night. Although the staff so not speak English. They try to make you feel very welcome and even have welcome signs with you countries flag hanging up for you when you arrive. In the room, they personalize your welcome letter and we even had swans with hearts waiting for us. They also booked are ferry to koh phangan for the full moon party

The value is ok, but the rooms upstairs are open air so noise carries throughout. The hostess we had when we arrived lied to us repeatedly about available rooms. When we first arrived they were "full" except for double bed room with air con. When we saw the room and then mentioned we'd keep looking, she then folded and said she had one triple room with shared bathroom, which we decided to go for as the price was more in line with a brief one night stopover. At this point I knew she had lied and this rather large premises felt very empty. We had a bite to eat out then came back to another girl asking what rooms they had and she was given a twin room with shared bathroom for yet a lower price, even after we had been told the room we got was all they had. This happened right in front of us without any shame. If you are just passing through it is conveniently located, but make sure you are astute if you are just walking in, they WILL try and take you for a ride.

We stayed for one night and wish we had stayed longer. It was 15$ for a king bed, ensuite. The hotel is v.central, right in town, easy to find, near the night market. The room was huge, clean, quiet, the bed was comfy, free water, toiletries, fast free wifi, very sweet welcome note at the desk and in our room. Not to mention the lovely towel swan display on our bed when we arrived. This place is great value for money, we were very pleasantly surprised. Id definitely recommend it.

We stayed in two other hotels in Surat Thani, one was 25$ pn, way out of town and the room wasnt half as good as My Place. The last place we stayed was the best hotel in Surat Thani and costs a fortune, still far out, terrible customer service, no free wifi and just not worth the money. Id rather have stayed at My Place.

Love driving from Phuket to Surathani for seafood and city admiring. 2 Days 1 Night is quite the perfect trip. After hunting reasonable seafood for meal, town hopping then it's time to take a rest. There were many hotels in town with various prices. We chose My Place because it's near the local market that we would like to visit (Market behind the shrine). Just a minute walking from hotel to there. Hotel located in town, not really hard to find on main road. We stayed in double room queen size bed by telephone booking. It's ok, standard room with cleanliness.... The TV connection was not really good, but that's fine we just needed a bed to sleep before ride back.

From the street, it looks expensive for its location on the main street and modern design. No, it isnt expensive and almost like a give away. I got a single room with fan, on the 4th floor, just for 199baht(usd 7). Yes, i typed it correctly. It even advertised on a banner on the street outside the hotel. What is the catch? When you request for a room, you have to be specific what type of room you want There is also another type of single rom with fan which is more expensive, which they tend to sell you if you didnt ask for the 199baht one. The bathrooms are outside and shared. But they are always clean. Though it looks modern from outside and at the lobby, but the building has the charm of chino portugese style. I love its polished cement floor rather than tiles. It gives you the feeling of living in grandeur in the past.

Room Tip: Ask for room away from main street
