We visited the Tiger Zoo (on 08 April) but were bitterly disappointed. We went to the Crocodile show and were not too bothered by the treatment they endured, the pig race (we loved the mathematical genious Joey) was nothing special, the tiger show was upsetting and so too was the elephant show. We found the zoo to be well maintained everywhere EXCEPT the enclosures. The enclosures were just bare, concrete floored and with no possibility of stimulation for the animals. We felt really sad for the animals. We then went on to take snaps with the tigers.... I know it's for our safety... but the tger we had the photo with was chained around the neck with very very limited chance to move (I think the chain may have been only about 50cm from the floor of the bench. We then went to feed the cubs and this was even more disappointing... the cubs were kept individually in indoor cages that were less the 1m*1m*1m... barely enough room to fit in, nevermind move around or pace. After that we just about had enough and left. I would not recommend at all... too upsetting.

“Terrible and upsetting”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 6, 2014

We were looking forward to seeing some tigers up close and kids having a chance to feed some cubs. While we were able to do this it was not a great experience. The zoo is poorly maintained by staff who are completely uninterested. We had to interrupt some from doing each other's hair to inquire about the cubs. The enclosures for all of the animals, not just the tigers, are small and cramp. The tiger cubs, which are probably 6 months, are kept in a small cage and brought out for a quick bottle feed which they take a photo with you then sent back to their cage. They don't appear to be well feed and have sores on top of their heads. The tiger show is like something from a circus with loud music blasting that my children wanted to leave after 5 minutes. It is kind of sad to see such amazing animals keep in such bad conditions and not well cared for.

We were deciding between this and the tiger temple and both had mixed reviews. I can't imagine that the tiger temple could be worse than this though.

“If looking for something to do with the kids come here”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 2, 2014

After spending a few days in pattaya we were looking for something to do with the children.. Obviously this is not like zoos back home and if you are against animal cruelty or are into animal rights don't bother!! I myself don't see the harm if a good zoo that is clean and animals are well fed. This zoo is exactly that. No issue at all. My children loved watching the pig racing and feeding baby tigers so well worth the experience. We really enjoyed it.

“Another Must See”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 1, 2014

Srirachi Tiger Show: Another MUST SEE whilst in Pattaya. There are 4 shows, the Tigers, Crocodiles, Elephants & the pig racing, all exciting and at times very funny. You walk around
the huge property (it is basically a mini zoo) with many animals to see and feed.....even baby tiger cubs, but at a small price. So much to explain, it would be easier if you JUST GO and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed. Book a tour as it is way out of Town, and you will need an air-conditioned vehicle for the trip.

“Utterly depressing.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2014

I found this zoo utterly depressing. If you want to see tigers, get some photos with them, and even stroke them, but have no care for the welfare of the animals themselves, then this is the place for you. There are a huge number of tigers here, as well as crocodiles, elephants and a few other surprises like pig racing. So that's the good stuff out of the way. The first thing we saw was the 'Tiger show' at 11am, which took place in a huge circus tent like structure, that was falling to bits. The tigers were crammed together in tight metal cages, with utterly deafening house music blaring from a PA system. We didn't last long in there, seeing these stunning animals performing cheap tricks in for a man with a whip was a bit too much to stomach. So we decided to investigate the rest of the zoo. There is a large enclosure full of more tigers than I could count, many of which were utterly emaciated. You were encouraged to 'shoot to feed' the tigers - To hit a target with a BB gun that would release a small chunk of meat. There was an enclosure with two black people dressed in caveman dress with a tiger, which you could take a photo of for tips of what they describe as a 'memorable scene.' All those tigers in Africa must have something to say about that! There were some baby tigers in cages that you could interact with that at least seemed happy and well fed. The saddest thing we saw was a huge tiger that you could, for 100 Baht, pose for a photo with. It was sleeping, but the handlers woke it up for photos - it was clearly drugged and incredibly lethargic. The saddest thing was the chain around it's neck that wouldn't even let this beautiful animal stretch it's neck. The really important thing was that many of the tigers showed signs of inbreeding - deformed faces, upturned noses, very few stripes, which means that they are useless for breeding programs. Honestly, I don't think I've been to a more depressing tourist attraction. I work on a 6 star cruise line, and have seen all sorts of things all over the world, but really felt compelled to write this review of this horrible animal park. The tigers of south east asia deserve better than this.
