“Amazing experience for the kids to get close to amazing animals”
Review of Sriracha Tiger Zoo

Sriracha Tiger Zoo
Reviewed January 22, 2013

Almost funny if not sad that so many 'western' tourists reviewing here suddenly become animal experts and make assumptions that are not true. This is not a western zoo where we, in the west, 'pretend' to give the animal a 'natural' environment, really? They still live in cement in all zoos. Do you really know how to handle a baby tiger? really? Do you really know when an animal is stressed, really? You were raised completely separated from nature and now you have an overly romantic notion of animals you know nothing about. Stop being so hypocritical, you do not know. Some exhibits here are a bit silly, but the interaction is amazing, and believe me, the tigers are not drugged, I sat with one and the interaction had to be brief and well controlled. Having said all that, there ARE better places, the tiger temple in Kanchanburi and the elephant camp up in Chiang Mai. If you actually run a zoo and are an actual zookeeper then please give your opinion, but if your only experience with these animals is from the Animal Planet channel on TV, close your mouth and don't go.

The best experience was feeding the tiger cubs and having a picture with giant tiger. Being an animal lover I feel that the animals should be kept free rather in cage.

1st of all I am not someone who is overly into animal rights and that sort of thing but what I seen at this "zoo" was sickening. When you enter you have the option to pay to feed a tiger cub with a bottle of milk which I done as the tiger cub was sat on my knee it wasn't hungry and wouldn't feed so the animal handler (if thats what you can call him) dragged the cub from my knee by its neck and into a room where god knows what happened to it. We then proceeded to the area with elephants where you can pay to feed a baby elephant which was chained to the floor looked under fed an in distress, seemed that if people didn't pay to feed the elephant they wouldn't be fed at all. Next up there was a crocodile show where a man kicks and hits crocodiles with a stick, these crocodiles are clearly drugged as the man doing the show fell into the water with 2 within 2FT of him and they didn't even flinch. At this point we had enough of this disgusting place an left I would advise anyone to stay away from this place.

Where do i start? Came away with a heavy heart and tears in my eyes. Dirty scruffy cages for these beautiful creatures, they also looked underweight, sweet little cubs roughly handledand the show was just blatent abuse.maybe if tourists avoided they would be forced to close this place. It was cruel and vile. Wish i had never gone. Will never visit again.
