Pattaya city hotel now named as Monaa's place is one lousy place you never want to go.
The staff is terrible. Even if someone send you free, you do not want to go and stay there.
By evening the house keeping is locked. They provide only two pillow in a room with tree bed.
They will charge you crazily if by mistake you break or damage any of the hotel property.
Big looters.

Room Tip: Do not ever go there.

It is promoted as a budget hotel but it is more worst than that....It is not a budget hotel it is just plain & simple a bad bad option of staying.....

My worst decision in my travel bookings so far was to go with this hotel...They have changed the name of the hotel from Hotel Pattaya City to Mona’s Place but the standard is appalling by all means.

Where do I start...Ok Lets start with Reception...

As soon as you walk in to the hotel - The Reception stares at you & wonder why have people arrived in the hotel & have no idea what to do...Does not understand English, Gets irritated if you asks here something blabbers in Thai Language with her co staff, then starts laughing staring at you....I love Thai people for there humor, Their nature & generally how friendly they are but this was a real shock. Keys are handed over with a request for a security deposit...No problem this is a general trend in almost all hotels in Thailand so no worries then comes the shock, If you want to use the security locker you need to pay extra for the same. I ask them if there is a security concern over my belongings, Reply is and I quote "Guests Steal Things from Room"... What....How.....Are keys to my room will work on any other room ????

Anyways then a so called Manager Mr Khan walks up to the reception counter and issues a warning like a school teacher that if anything gets dirty in the room you will have to pay extra for it...I jokingly asked him where do you expect me to sleep....He looks at me and says he does not care as long as things do not get dirty even the bed sheet....What The Hell....What have I paid for sleeping on the floor. Anyways I took it jokingly and moved on to room...

Lift was not working...So walked to the room via stairs carrying my own luggage as there are no bell boys...Reached the room and as soon as I opened and entered the room a lady who so far was walking behind us suddenly comes in the room and I gave her a stare and asked her what does she want....She takes out a check list and asks me to check that there are two towels, One tv, One AC..One Shower etc etc in the room. I ask her what does she want exactly she says that I need to sign the check list as and again I quote "Guests Steal Things from Room" Hmmmmm.....This hotel have a serious problems with guests stealing things.....The lady leaves and tell me that the bathroom should not be dirty....WTH.....I am supposed to sleep on the room and Am I expected to clean the room also…

I was tired and asked here to leave…Went to take a shower and bathroom is small for even a teenager to stand and take shower….Bigger problem was that the gutter was clogged…No telephone in the room to call the reception hence dress up again after taking the shower went down and ask the manager to look into the same….Initial response “Guests block the same” I go back to room a gentleman comes to my room check…Looks around & says he will be back…Comes back with Mr Khan (Manager) and first reaction is that it seem to be blocked when you took the bath..This was high time and I could not tolerate this further I asked him that what is he expecting of me..Is he expecting me to clean the gutter answer is plain & simple…No No, You just need to pay for this…To hell with it I started shouting & wanted them to call police to sort it out….Mr Khan went back and told me that they would be doing me a favor by not charging for the cleaning.

Second Day…

Woke up and took shower went around the town came back…My wet towel which was in the shower is spread across my bed making my bed completely wet. Back to Mr Khan called him up in the room and asked him that what have I done to receive this favor from them…He points toward a red colored stain in the towel and says this can not be cleaned and have to be paid for. I asked him how does he know it can not be cleaned have they tried to wash it and response is “Guests make thing dirty & expect us to clean it”. You will have to pay for the towel. I told him that the stain is of pink color and I am not carrying anything pink on me…Answer is that I might have seen the stain and put the pink thing away… I ask him what have I paid them for…Is it for having a nice peaceful sleep in the room or for cleaning, doing their laundry, plumbing etc. His immediate response do not get angry I will give you a discount on the towel…I am again surprised and demand that he tries to get it clean atleast and that also in front of me If it will not get cleaned then we will talk on negotiating the price if I will pay for it….No apologies so far for making my bed complete wet, I asked for change of bed…Not possible we are completely booked…I ask them to put atleast a spare mattress in the room as the bed was in no condition for sleeping and was asked to pay extra for a extra mattress…I told them that we are still two and it is no mistake of ours that the bed is wet…No response..Paid and took extra mattress…

Enough is enough

I decided to check out next day as this was not something I had enjoyed so far and I wanted to get away from this hell hole…Reception was again blabbering on me talking in English with her and gave me my deposit money back less the towel cost… I told her that this was not settled on and demanded to see Mr Khan…He is not available asked for anyone senior in the hotel…No one is available…I then asked here is there any one senior than her in the hotel…Answer is plain & simple no….I can not be ruining my holidays… I asked am I paying for its cleaning or for the towel answer is you pay BHAT 500 for towel…OK, give me the towel then I will take it with me….
That is not possible, I asked her If I am paying for the towel I am entitled to take it with me and as she is the senior most person in the hotel at this point of time she should take this decision immediately…Not possible she says…Again it comes to the point when I ask them to call the Thai Police to sort the matter and suddenly everything change they are ok with me taking the towel with me…

This is one of the most pathetic hotels I have stayed at with nonsense staff at every corner of the hotel…Trust me when I say this that it is better to sleep on the beach than at Mona’s Place…

Room Tip: Good Choice would be not staying here.....

Had a nice Trip with frens at This Hotel.

Bad Points

No great Service.
Lacks facility of Internet
Expensive Food.
Worst Thai food

Good Points

1)The location here is excellent , just walkdown fom the beach.
2) Located near some nice bars.
3) Lotsa Indians stay here so Indian food is nt a problem.
4) Really Cheap & Under Budget.I booked thru Antilog Vacations& got a 4 nt package in 4000 bucks.
5) Good Services for " the stuff" u wanna have in Pattaya. The best
Services are available.
6) Thai Massage & Gogo bars, Clubs, Parlours near by.

All in all , good if u r a Bachelor , Couples have no issues as well
but i would say go for a better booking.

Hotel is near to beach around 15 min walking to reach the beach however if you want to visit the walking street than it is too far around 40 min walking from the hotel

Hotel amenities is very basic and the feel of the hotel is too basic as they also say it gives homely felling

Hotel is very clean though and rooms are spacious however they don’t have cupboard and plug point for charging

Lift was not working properly at all when we visited

The hotel is now known as Monas place. You can have better options at the same price and I would recommend you to look for some other options if possible

The Hotel is located around .5 kms from the Pattaya beach. Its simple and plain hotel. Serves good indian food. We stayed for 2 days. Did not face any problem. Staff is cordial. Only disadvantage is the route to reach the beach is not so good..

first of all ,it,s necessary that the tourist must carry there own towels ,because these people give limited hotels.the travel agents just to have more profit book this hotel and i also become there victim ,u also had to pay for using swimming pool because it belong to the neighbours .The only benefit of the hotel is that it is near to the beach
