Stayed at the Ramada in Khao Lak. The position was perfect, close to town, right on the beach. The staff couldn't be faulted, so friendly and helpful and falling over themselves to assist you whenever they could. Sassi's restaurant and bar, great service, inexpensive and yummy food. The beach was lovely and clean with so many beach restaurants only a minutes walk away. Try food from the lady who cooks food on the beach. It's amazing. The pool was fantastic with a great swim up bar and daily happy hour 2 for 1 drinks. The included breakfast was excellent with a huge range of food to suit everyone and the coffee shop next door to the breakfast was lovely too. Only complaint is the people who put their towels on the pool lounges and then leave for the day but we told the hotel staff and they acted on it immediately. The bathroom was lovely to look at but the bath tub not very comfortable.
We enjoyed our stay immensely and would return to Ramada. Thank you!!

In short this hotel is hardly any to exceed! Not free it belongs to the most popular hotels in Thailand and our expectations weren't dissapointed. In the Ramada resort is an excellent run hotel, with staff, which in friendliness almost only can strike. Always a nice greeting, always attentive, always cooperative, always. (so you could be added to the list). The garden and the whole hotel is in spotless condition, very well arranged and generously built, nice pool area, which has at any time of the day enough sunbeds gave (reservation not necessary-tip a few incorrigible). The same also at the beach, the directly at the hotel and it's almost the widest place of all hotels has. The sand is without stones, rocks, dirt and so on. Just as, as a dream beach presents. We stayed at the Ramada resort 9 times and 9 breakfast once. It was never boring. The selection was varied and very well prepared. The dishes were fresh and nicely arranged. For dinner can we not from my own experience, since we always were outside of meals, but, as we have heard, also very good be, but also a bit expensive. Recommendation: tone son (approximately 100 meters to the left directly at the beach), as already mentioned in other reviews. Unfortunately, this restaurant the construction of other hotels to the victims-absolutely a shame. Back to Ramada resort the hotel lies slightly off the beaten track the main street (around 400 to 500 metres), so very quiet. If you want to see, is however in Khao Lak anyway wrong, because it is a small town with a few shops and restaurants are. No mass tourism, no gogo-girls, sexbars or similar That means, if you want to have your peace and quiet, and there was also in the hotel complex, is in Ramada resort absolutely right. The audience is mainly (about 80%) german speaking (except german dutch, scheizer, austrians) and all ages (middle age estimated 40-45 years). My conclusion: this hotel is absolutely perfect for a relaxing hotel. If you ' a bit more for the money' to have would like, you are here just perfect.

Ps:to the hotel management: thank you for everything and they remain very good and friendly with their staff in order. It is always and the staff its positive influence on the guests further.

Arriving at Ramada Khao Lak it was a very pleasant quick efficient reception and our daughter was so happy to get a gift - sand toys.

Rooms are very spacious and have a nice overview on the pool/beach. Bathroom is also very spacious and it even features a big wooden tub and additional shower. But there was a constant bad odor from the sink in the bathroom, maybe it was just our room...

The first night I also caught one cockroach in the room, but this can happen on such climate. It was also the only one I saw in room.

Breakfast was served either indoor our outdoor and space was always plenty. There is a heavy weight on the "western" style of breakfast and since I am more for the asian stuff I missed some. Miso was there and so was very good freshly made asian soup station, but sushi was not worth to mention and maybe just 2-3 other asian dishes. Probably due to mostly us western tourists.

Pool area was also nice with a sandy strip of beach and personnel was really taking care of the guests, so no worries about the shade or a place to lie down.

WiFi is free of charge all around the resort, but it can be quite cumbersome, the price of "non regulated" free WiFi networks where clients do not have bandwidth limits obviously. But it was working for all the time we spent here.

A very nice touch is also a free bike rental so you can quickly hop to a nearby place for a meal, drink, groceries if you do not feel like walking (everything is really in walk reach).

Going to Khao Lak "centre" means going back to the main road and you can do that on foot too (especially to go to central market on sat/mon/wed) but the main "strip" is approx. 3-4km away and taxi will cost you 150THB.

Other available things in the hotel (restaurants, spa, tours) are quite more expensive than "on the street", but that is everywhere. You want to save money? Go out on the street :)

The main problem we had was the sleeping quality. Beds were OK, but there were two problems:

1) Aircon is VERY noisy even on the lowest setting and it gets HOT without it....so we were constantly switching it on/off during the night.
2) Front doors of the rooms have no sound insulation and since we like to sleep in the morning we were woken up by noise from either the street, cleaning staff or other tourists every single day multiple times. It's like it's happening in your room.

All in all I can say nice hotel with exceptional staff but with some quirks if you are picky.

Dear ALiEN2108

Greetings to Slovenia and thank you for your feedback.
We appreciate your recent stay with us and your valued comments are highly appreciated.

We are delighted to hear that you have enjoyed our hotel and services of the hotel, despite some minor quirks.

After the rain season period and especially after rain with high humidity we have infrequent issues with unpleasant odor which our Housekeeping and Engineering Team tries to fix and prevent, in any case, we provide an optional room move if this is requested from our guests. I apologize if in your case you have noticed such odor.

Thank you for pointing this out and I am glad to hear that you have not encountered any other insects in your room, despite using pest control services there is no 100% guarantee of a free-insect environment.

We are plating up typical international cuisine for breakfast with the most popular Asian options, I will have a look with our Japanese Chef in regards to the sushi offer.

I am happy that the free WiFi, pool service and bike rental lived up to your expectations.

We have chosen this particular 3rd party provider for our tours and another supplier for diving since we like to provide a professional service to our guests without taking any risks, this will however cost you more of course.
It will cost you also more if you visit our Spa, this is correct. Our therapists are trained and therefore you will not have any pain after a relaxing massage unlike at other local spas.

We are aware that some air con units are having a higher output and our Engineering Team is looking into this issue, thank you for pointing it out.

I apologize if in your room the insulation was not up to your expectations, thank you for your comment and we will seek for improvements in this area.

The entire Ramada Khao Lak team and myself hope to welcome you back soon in the future.

We stayed here for 6 nights in October. The room was immaculate, clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a lovely setting, right on the beach. The hotel is surrounded by tropical gardens with a large pool and lots of sunbeds. The happy hour with half price drinks was very popular. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us from setting up towels on the sunbed to serving in the bars and restaurants. A nice little touch was the staff coming round in the evening with tea, coffee or water with a couple of sweets and a thought for the day. The staff working on the pool bar were incredibly hardworking either serving drinks or arranging water polo or various games. We went to a couple of the restaurants on the beach where the food and drinks were excellent and really cheap. Even though we had torrential rain during our stay it did not spoil our enjoyment of the trip. We will definately return.

We stayed here for 3 days in October. Whilst appearing dated from the outside, the setting was amazing with great access to the beach. The gardens were a typical Thai paradise with a great pool and pool bar offering good value drinks whilst in the pool, especially the popular happy hour! Friendly staff and good restaurant food. Would definitely return.

My wife and I stayed her for 7 nights. We chose a Ocean Villa for the view and the peace and quiet away from the main hotel.
Having just spent 7 days at the incredible Layana in Ko Lanta, we were just a little disappointed at the villa location. All the villas are situated behind a 2 metre bank of sand covered in foliage with several young trees which also interrupted your view. Whilst the villas are also set up level with the top of the bank, you cannot see the beach but you can see the sea.
We enjoyed relaxing on the decking which was directly outside our room but it was only possible for both of us to sit in the shade in the morning. As soon as the sun came directly overhead there was not enough shade from our umbrella to cover 2 sun beds. We asked for a second umbrella but it was not possible as the concrete umbrella stands were so heavy that the staff couldn't move them let alone lift one on to our decking.
The main area where the sun beds are situated and some shade was available from the trees was not to our liking. There were approximately 100 beds in 4 or 5 regimented rows with little space in between.
The hotel facilities were what you would expect from a 5 Star hotel although the breakfast choice and quality was excellent, the food in the restaurant (Sassi's) was disappointing.
The Ramada is a very good hotel, I could not rate it excellent as most other TA reviewers have, because in truth it is not excellent, it is very good. The staff however are in the main excellent.
Would we return? I think not, we do return to hotels that are exceptional but this is not one of them.

Hello Thaibart

Greetings to the UK and I thank you very much for your patronage here at the Ramada Khao Lak.

It is unfortunate to hear that we did not live up to your standards concerning the view and shade on your terrace of your villa.
I thank you for pointing this out to me and your valuable comments are highly appreciated.

Do let me know by email if I can be of any further assistance to you and I am happy to extend to you a very special offer upon your next visit. I am positive that our Team and myself can make this negative experience to a delighting one!

With my best personal regards
