We stayed at the Sarojin for 13 nights 25th Oct – 7th November. It is a really lovely place to stay and we had a truly relaxing time there. There are lots little treats in your room, I won’t spoil the surprise by telling you what they are, but suffice to say we enjoyed them sitting in our Sala with a drink before dinner.
The one thing that makes the Sarojin stand out from other hotels is the “all day breakfast” system. This means that you can go the Ficus restaurant at any time of day and order your full a-la-carte breakfast, this is a full menu of anything you can imagine, all cooked to order and served with great coffee, sparkling wine and lovely fresh juices. Most people seem to eat as we did, late morning around 11am – noon which then meant we didn’t need anything else until dinner.
We ate at the Edge restaurant a few times during our stay and the food here is excellent – again with little treats thrown in. Prices are perhaps expensive for Thailand, but we were happy to pay for the quality we received and it is far less than we pay for food in the Maldives where we visit frequently.
There are a few little beach bars next to the hotel so you have the choice of eating there for much less or going into Khao Lak town to eat. The hotel runs a shuttle bus every couple of hours into town and back there is a charge of 100thb (around £2) or you can take a taxi which costs 300thb (£6) regardless of whether it is a hotel vehicle or an open backed truck from town.
We had a problem with an insect noise outside our room (waking us at 6am every morning) but were moved without question when we reported this. The rooms are lovely and you are provided with as much bottled water as you like. There are plenty of toiletries provided daily (I saved on luggage allowance by not carrying heavy bottles of bodywash, shampoo and conditioner). The bath salts are lovely and we had many lovely deep relaxing baths during our stay, there was always plenty of hot water. The only problem I encountered was the lack of a good mirror to see close-up, so I would suggest you take a small magnifying mirror with you.
The hotel was at full capacity during our stay but you would never have guessed it, as it maintained its calm peaceful atmosphere. There were always plenty of loungers available around the pool or on the beach, and it never felt busy. There was rarely more than 2 other people in the pool at any time.
We had one fun evening out on board The Lady Sarojin (the hotels’ speedboat) for a sunset cruise. The only thing missing was the sunset – the heavens opened and we had torrential rain, but it mattered not as Dawid made it fun! He is the perfect host and we had a fabulous evening.
All the staff here are lovely and the hotel policy is that you are treated like family, but we would particularly like to mention James on reception and Jib and Pleng in the Ficus restaurant, who were so bright and cheery in the mornings and were so caring to me when I was ill for a couple of days at the end of our stay.
One other point to make is perhaps that staff morale is very high. We spoke to many of the staff who told us how happy they were working there and how well they are treated. In fact during our stay the annual staff party took place (elsewhere) and awards given out. The staff were proudly showing us the photos the next day and they certainly had a great time.

This place is perfect! We stayed for 5 nights for our honeymoon and we wish we stayed longer! We were upgraded to a suite since it was our honeymoon and it is just gorgeous. Our favourite place was definitely the open space bathroom with 2 showers and a tub! It was very private and quiet... We only saw couples there during the time.
The food is just simply divine. We had a private dinner at our balcony on the last night and it was SO GOOD! They had set up a food station at our balcony, complete with candles all over the balcony. A cook and a waiter fed us all night (food was way too much we were very sleepy by the end of it!). Breakfast is excellent, we'd wake up each day and could not wait to go down for breakfast :).
The staff were all so courteous and helpful. They were a delight.
Would definitely recommend this place to honeymooners!

....because I wanted to keep the Sarojin a secret!

We have just returned from 8 nights at the Sarojin for our honeymoon and it was PERFECT!

We arrived at Phuket airport very late at night and after 28 hours travelling to be met by Moo and the Sarojin private car.
It was such a welcome sight, Moo was a delight, he wouldn't let us do anything.
We were offered cold flannels infused with lemongrass, which were wonderful, and any number of cold drinks from the coolbox in the car.
About halfway there, we were shown the 'room service' menu to choose something so that it would be ready when we got there....nice!

We arrived at the hotel about midnight to be met by Jeep, he had the smiliest face i've ever seen and the long, ardous journey just melted from our memory :o)
We had a quick check-in and were then led to our amazing pool residence...
1st impressions?? - WOW!
We collapsed into the massive bed and slept til late the next day......

The Sarojin has a philosphy to help you feel as relaxed as possible, they want you to feel as though you are staying with friends or family....and this philosphy really came across especially with the breakfast arrangements.
You can go for the wonderful a la carte breakfast any time between 6.30am and 6.30pm....what a genius idea!
You can have as much or a little as you like, my favourite was the bean waffles with fruit compote and cream...yum-yum

Its also very quiet, the hotel was full when we were there so thats 112ish guests....but you can go hours without seeing anybody. Its the perfect, romantic get-away.

And the attention to detail is amazing....
A couple of things you don't need to pack....
Towels - you get loads of bath towels and seperate ones for the pool and beach
Robes - 2 gorgeous, light robes are provided
Toiletries - they are gorgeous infused with essential oils, my personal favourite was the lavender body lotion!
Beach bag - a perfect-sized beach bag is provided

All of the food was outstanding, we had gone with the plan to eat out as much as possible to save pennies but we ended up eating in the hotel on all but 1 night.
Our favourite was The Edge, on our 1st night my new hubby had the whole steamed snapper...it was stunning....
We also attended the beach bbq and the Thai night...both were made up of various food stations....all delicious...the lobster and prawns at the beach bbq have to be tried.

As i said previously, we had wanted to try and save a few pennies eating and drinking out.
Especially as we had been told by friends at home how cheap it could be.
But, you definitely get what you pay for!
And I have to say the Sarojin is not over-priced by home standards.
That 1st night, when we had whole snapper, was about £35 in total for 2 mains and drinks.
There are 3 restaurants just to the right of the Sarojin on the beach and we did have lunch a couple of times, all very nice
But to be honest, once we'd been there a day or so, we were so relaxed we just didn't want to leave the hotel.

Another thing where you get what you pay for......the spa!
We had a massage on the beach for 300B (about £6) and it was.....hmmmm rough!
My hubby loved it but i'm a delicate flower :o)
However, the Sarojin spa massage, well, it was the best i've ever had....

Our room was gorgeous!!
Our bed had been decorated with flowers when we arrived, the bath run with floating flowers too and classical music was playing........
The bathroom is stunning even if the loo has a wall missing :o)
And our own private pool was the icing on the cake....we've been spoilt now and will definitely miss having our own pool in future hotel rooms.
( i don't want to say anything negative but i do agree with a previous review....the tvs could do with being upgraded or removed and an ipod dock would be an excellent addition)

All of the staff are outstanding - so helpful, polite, happy...but there were a couple that made an impression of us....
Jeep - with his amazing smile
Wuth - so professional and calm, he almost knew what you wanted before you did!
Phoung at the Edge - she remembered what drinks we liked and more importantly, exactly how we liked them to be served!
Tu - who served our private sala meal...he was a mind of information and his english was excellent, he had taught himself by watching dvds!
And Leisa, the general manager, you are doing a fab job!

If anybody has anything negative to say about the Sarojin, they really need to take a step back because they have stopped enjoying the finer things in life!

There are not enough adjectives to describe the Sarojin....its a little piece of paradise on Earth :o)
We loved it and would definitely love to return!

Room Tip: Go for a pool residence, you won't regret it!

We stayed at the Sarojin for 10 days on our honeymoon. It rained the whole time but because of the amazing rooms, service and food we more than enjoyed our stay. I would love to come again. The food was amazing and of a high standard. We stayed in the garden residence and the room was fantastic. The rooms were kept immaculate and the bathroom was sheer luxury. We spent time in Khao Lak at the Monkey Bar for cocktails great atmosphere and live music some nights. It was a relaxing and fun experience and 5*.

This is just an experience that everyone needs to have. We visited in August 2011 for our 30 th wedding anniversary and just wow. We were loooked after so well and felt so much part of the family. As we arrived and on the day of our anniversary our room was decorated with candles and petals. Animals were created from towels, food was spectacular, breakfast at any time of the day was brilliant. Eggs Benedict was amazing. Kob, O, Carol and all staff were truly amazing, can't wait to return. Truly idyllic and amazing throughout, We have been to a numbe of thai hotels and love the country, will be visiiting 3 times in 12 months you just have to go to experience it alll. Local market good value for money, bought loads of Christmas presents. Can't wait to go back. Spectacular beach please don't let too many other hotels invade. Will be visiting new hotel in Cambodia as soon as open.
if anyone suggests a poor review for this hotel they do not deserve to have the experience of Thailand and should stay at home.

Room Tip: Romantic, and relaxed.

Just back from 4 days in Sarojin at the end of our trip to Thailand, and yes it is great to keep the best until last! Fabulous place, quite, intimate, attentive, quality - everything about it was great. 56 rooms in total so it is really focussed on couples and privacy.

The grounds were magical and kept very well (there were always staff clearing up). The pool was a decent depth and very beautiful. The beach is fabulous & there are a few beach restaurants just beside the hotel, which are okay. We found another beach restaurant further down the beach which was great - turn right when you walk onto the beach and you will see rocks in the distance - just past these rocks tucked into the trees there is a great little beach restaurant - we used for lunch.

Took the shuttle into Khao Lak in the evening, 100THB is fine but cant really understand why the shuttle is not complimentary.

Went to the Thai night in the hotel on the night of arrival. It was set around the pool and was a bit of a disappointment - both the food and the entertaiment were not worth the cost.

Our room was perfect and kept immaculately clean. We had a small infestation of ants in our room and this was swiftly sorted for us.

Breakfast was great, cooked to order, using quality fresh ingredients - biggest problem is what to choose.

Used the Sarojin transport to and from the airport and this too was qualtiy.

Wish I was back there now!

Just returned from our second stay at The Sarojin and VERY happy to say that the amazing service and beauty of the place has remained, if only gotten better!

A few things have changed. There is now a fairly large hotel directly to the left where the boat yard used to be. We missed seeing the gorgeous long tales coming and going. The beach area is a bit smaller and during very high tides the loungers are very close together. By the end of the week the tides had changed and more space was allotted for the loungers.

Khao Lak town has grown considerably which is wonderful for the local economy and makes going into town for dinner or shopping a more varied experience.

Rooms are still looking fantastic and a very special Thank You to Chai who helped us make a last minute room change with speed, professionalism, and a smile. He is a star! Room 606 is delightfully private and the pool and sala area are simply divine!

Food and drinks are still wonderful and very reasonably priced considering the class of hotel.

The staff is truly amazing. From reception to housekeeping and everyone in between. Just fantastic!

We were very lucky with the weather and had 5 out of 7 days with beautiful blue skies. When it did rain it was refreshing. A couple of very dramatic thunderstorms just added to the fun!

A few small things that could make the rooms a bit more perfect!:

- The TV's in the rooms really need an upgrade or need to be removed (does anyone watch TV here anyway?). They look wildly old fashioned (and not in a retro way) and don't match the lovely understated decor.

- An iPod doc or the like would be a great edition. No one travels with CD's any more and the large CD player just looks out of place.

But these are (obviously) very trivial nits - all in all, a week at the Sarojin is still one of the finest indulgences we have had the great good luck to experience.

Room Tip: Grab one of the bikes and go for a spin. The sorrounding are is gorgeous and really bicycle friendly...
